Hey!
So I just filled my maverick up for the first time and I had a bit of an issue.

when filling it up the pump would shut off every 3 seconds. When I let go and continue (because I know I am on E)gas splashes back and onto the side of my truck. I’m not sure if it was user error or the Gas pump not jelling with the easy fill cap but I was wondering if anyone had this issue?
If so what did you do to fix it?

thank you!

I have had this same issue with a Maverick Hybrid I recently bought with only 2,000 miles. Gas tank will not open so I have to use the Manuel release near the tire. I don't know why they made it an electronic button to open the fuel tank.

Did you find a resolution to this?

Poorly maintained gaspump nozzles tend to get peened inward and causing the nozzle's backpressure sensor to malfunction. It can be reamed out a couple of times before it gets too short to function correctly, after which they should be replacing the nozzle. Stop using that gas station. A quick search will show whether that brand of fuel is top-tier gas or not, so I'll bet that you should not be using it anyways.

I had similar experience with my first fuel up with the gas pump clicking off constantly so I fueled up slowly. Even though I went at a snails pace I still ended up only putting in half a tank of gas. I'll try a different brand gas station on my next fuel up. It's frustrating to say the least.

Hello! I can look into this concern for you. Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer?
I have a 2022 Maverick hybrid which I love. I just started having this problem. 1st, it takes a couple of attempts to open the fuel cap door. 2nd, it keeps shutting off at the pump. Today I quit after getting only 5 gallons, last time I got it up to 10 gallons but then I got a CEL #P04B4, which went away after a couple of days

Hey , thanks for sharing that. I was actually wondering how I could contact that member. In the past they have seemed to have helped other members.

I've had this issue this winter, it happens more often in very cold conditions, Almost like a valve in the pressurized fuel system is not opening all the way.
