I was looking for a way to power my Auxbeam 8 gang switch so that when I got into my vehicle it was powered but when I left my vehicle it powered off. Using the ACC wire turned the Auxbeam on but powered down when the ignition was turned off.
At some point I discovered fuse 78 and 79 in the under hood fuse box control the Left and Right hand side Enhanced Exterior Lighting Module. When the door handle is touched or the key fob unlock is pushed it activates sending 12V. This will remain powered for 10 minutes after shutting of or locking the vehicle. I asked the dealership and here on the MTC forum if anyone had a wiring diagram for fuse 78 & 79 but couldn't find anything.
I crudely tied a wire around the blade of fuse 78 and ran it to my auxbeam controller for the remote power usually reserved for ACC. This worked amazingly but I wasn't happy with the crude wiring.
I was going through a box yesterday and came across this headlight wiring harness I came into possesion of but ended up not using for some reason. For the life of me I can't remember where I purchased it. I've searched my Ebay and Amazon history and can't see a purchase for it.
On a hunch I plugged it in to the left headlight and tested with a mulitmeter. The red wire gave a 12V reading when the headlights were turned on. The white wire gives a reading of 12V which shuts off after 10 minutes. I touched the door handle and sure enough it turned on 12V.
So if you're looking for something simlar as a trigger for a relay or to power something similarly this may work for you. I also used it to provide a power source for my dynamic turn signals front and rear.

There is a link for something similar for an F-150 but I can't guarantee it works for the Maverick as I only see the red and black wire.
