Has anyone tapped into the front speakers for a LOC in the front kick panels? I was going to tap into the speakers in the front console under the head unit but it is really tight and Ford twisted the wiring making it really hard to tap. I figured it would be easier to tap the wires in the front kick panels prior to the wiring entering the door? Has anyone located the harness on the right and left side?

Did it today actually, there’s access to about 2 to 3” of the speaker wires on both sides under the kick panel. Decent enough to get a signal from the front speakers but missing the power and ground you can get under the head unit.

Thank you! Is there just one harness under the kick panel or will I have to dig through multiple harnesses to find the right one with the right wires?

There’s a smaller bundle Of wires going through the kick panel and to the doors on each side, it would be hard to miss. Do the passenger side first since that’s got less stuff in the way and there’s only one bundle there so at least you know what you’re working with. Drivers side has a larger bundle with the door bundle coming out of that and through the panel toward the door. easy to notice once you know the size of the bundle from the passenger side. Careful with the wires, there’s a lot of overlapping colours so you have to watch carefully to make sure you get the speaker wires. And it’s definitely itself still tight getting in there but manageable.

I am actually having more trouble on the passenger side locating the correct harness?

^ It's Probably 20 ga. 18 would definitely be the thickest it would be for OE speaker wire.
