I get two messages displayed, Front Camera Fault Service Required and Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. According to SSM 52246, this may be due to the software installed in the IPMA. To correct this condition, reprogram the IPMA using the latest software version of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) scan tool and perform the IPMA alignment procedure. Can this IPMA reprogramming be done using Forscan or is this a fix that can only be done at the Ford dealership? If fix must be done at dealership, will any changes made in Forscan be lost? Ron

I'm not sure in your exact case but I've read on this forum where customers performed forscan changes and were overwritten when recall software updates were done by the dealership, so the owners had to re-enter their previous changes. No idea if this applies to every situation. I've never used or plan to use forscan, is there a way you can backup your changes and reapply them all at once after ford apply's their fix instead of individually entering every change??? Sorry I'm not really of any help to you.

FORScan, if you paid for the full license, can technically do firmware updates but you need the files which aren't freely available if you don't have a FDRS license. So in short dealership only pretty much.

Just any changes with FORScan to the IPMA should be reset. So if you enabled Traffic Sign Detection, for instance. Of course if the dealer performs recall updates to other modules those may be reset as well. Although FORScan can backup the current values.

I had these warning messages every time I would start my truck. 2023 XLT Hybrid. I would happen first If I parked my truck with direct sunlight onto the front windshield. Then garage overnight, would not happen next morning. Then started parking backwards and no direct sunlight.. no message in afternoon. A couple more months go by, then messages back no matter if direct sunlight or not, garage or not. Dealership diagnosed the Front camera module went bad and replaced under warranty. 2 trips to dealer. 1st to diagnose, 2nd to fix after part ordered. My dealer offers pickup and delivery. They would come get it at my work in AM and drop off in PM after fixed.

Since the camera module was replaced have you had any issues afterwards? Thanks for replying.

None. Tested in bright afternoon direct sunlight this past week since fix last week, no problems.

I have this exact issue on my 2023 XLT hybrid. Anytime the camera faces the sun or headlights, I get the error messages. Sometimes it goes away but comes back multiple times.

I just gotta find time to take it to the dealer.

I have had the front camera fault out several times this year. I have taken it in and they have replaced parts and had Ford write a custom code for the camera module but it still keeps faulting
This is the 4th time and the dealer won't even take the truck yet till corporate techs can provide the next step. It is getting really annoying.
