Traded in my 2020 Honda Fit EX for a 2025 AWD Hybrid Lariat 4K in space white metallic.
I bought the Fit new in 2020 and just crossed 25k miles driving to the dealer for trade-in, so I got a pretty good deal from the dealer - $16K - and OTD the maverick was $38.3K, but without any registration fees since those are separate in my state.
I really wanted a velocity blue, but I couldn't find one in a hybrid and I wasn't willing to order one. My registration renewal was coming up and I was hoping to time it to get the maverick before August so I wouldnt have to pay a renewal on my Fit. I tried locally but no luck, then I found a listing a dealer 3 hours away, called them up we settled on a price/over the phone appraisal of my Fit and I signed price paperwork and put down a $1k deposit.
At the time the maverick was still en route to the dealership. Conversation was started 4/28 and I picked up the truck yesterday 5/22. I drove 3 hours there, and then 3 hours back in the maverick during HEAVY rains all the way back.
I was bummed out about not being able to find the blue I wanted, but after seeing the space white in person I really like it.
The Fit was a great car, and if it was awd and had more ground clearance I would've kept it, but the winters here are brutal with a ton of snow, and I fell in love with the idea of the maverick since it was first announced. My brother also has a '24 hybrid that he loves so I knew it would be fine.
My first solo drive being 3 hours/200 miles, I got a pretty good introduction to the maverick and really like it. Ford is doing something right because before this, I would have NEVER bought another ford -- I bought a 2004 Ford Focus Wagon and that thing was a pos and I regretted buying it every day for the short while I had it. I've always associated domestic cars with being unreliable and poorly built.
Compared to the fit the build quality is at least as good or better and its feels way bigger inside, the new infotainment screen is a goldilocks size and feels modern, is snappy, and the 360 camera is great -- though it better be since it's 2x what the fit was new -- and even though I babied it and will continue to do so for the next 1500 miles, it has some pickup and very smooth acceleration and can EASILY cruise at 75mph with plenty of room to spare, while the Fit would start to be strung out around the 80mph mark, I imagine the ecoboost is even faster!
I put on a screen protector for the infotainment -- the sales guy started peeling it off and I had to snap at him to leave it on, im not buying a new car for someone else to peel the plastic protector off, thats sacrilege - some window rain guides, and mud flaps, and gave the whole truck a coat of spray on ceramic coating.
Looks like I just missed the new recall as well, good thing I picked it up yesterday because originally I wanted to wait until today or maybe monday, but the sales guy had today off.
