Hey all,

Trying to get ForScan up and running, my grandfather bought a Maverick a little while ago and was wanting a few things changed after I sent him the spreadsheet of options.

He bought one of the cheap Blue/White/Orange ELM327 adapter with the MS/HS switch. I was able to get the drivers installed and ForScan Extended on the latest version (2.3.66)... However, when connecting to the vehicle, I can't get it to read more than a couple of modules, nothing like what others seem to have available.

I figure this is a problem with the cheaper adapter, but I wanted some input before I bothered buying another one. Any suggestions or am I missing something?

I have one with the switch. Bought it years ago to use on my ‘11 Mustang. It still works fine on my ‘25 Maverick.
One thing is the manual that came with mine had the diagram backwards for the HS/MS switch. I have to flip mine away from the cord to be in HS.
So I recommend you try by assuming the switch is opposite of what you think it is, Then, if that works, note that in the manual and sharpie the unit itself; that is what I have done.

Yep, no dice with flipping the switch the opposite way. Probably just an issue with the cable then. I'll have him order up one of the proper ForScan approved ones which should fix the issue.

I recently had this problem with multiple obd cords. The problem ended up being the connection settings in forscan. Try changing the MS can support to switch instead of auto. and increase response time to 1000

Thanks for this tip! I was about ready to give up on my ELM327, but this seemed to do the trick.
