Is it possible to use the FordPass Rewards to partially cover the cost of having my dealer (Gresham Ford) provide a spray-in liner? I picked up my truck this weekend and was hoping I may be able to offset the cost with the rewards. They use some 3rd party vendor, but its all done "in house." Does this vary by dealer?

Thanks!

In classic Ford dealer fashion, one guy said yes, one guy said no. I figured I would ask the collective hive mind.

It's up to the dealership as to whether they choose to participate in Ford Points. Some do, many do not...

I would ping the Service/Parts manager to verify.

If they do, I would insure they use a quality sub like Linex, etc....

Good luck

I got different answers on this from several different dealers back when I was first interviewing them for ordering. In the end I just went with the drop in, which was covered by points. I gathered it kinda' depended on whether or not the dealership themselves guaranteed the work or their sub did. If they sub it out totally, including the sub being responsible for the guarantee part, then no, no points, it's not an official Ford "accessory." But again, I got different answers from different people. You get one who says yes, definitely, get it in writing. And make sure it isn't the kid they just hired from high school doing it in the back bay of the dealership.

In order to be able to use Ford Pass rewards, it is to be "Ford" parts (and/or labor). I don't think they are supposed to be used when something us sublet out to a 3rd party like this.

That doesn't mean that the dealer couldn't try to apply them.... just that there is a good chance that Ford will charge them back for it in the future! So I think most dealers wouldn't allow points to be used on something like this.

Mine told me No, because it’s not an official Ford product (despite a dealer offering it) such as an official mudflap or drop in box liner. They outsource the SIBL to a local 3rd party.

our dealer would just send it to a place called Texas Truck Outfitters to do the work. I did mine through them and they did a great job $400

UPDATE: I was able to use my Ford Pass points for my dealer to provide the LineX spray-in a couple weeks after I picked up my truck. Brought the total cash price to $342.
