Ford, why no blacked out headlight housings?

They're saving the fully blacked out lights for a special appearance package, should see it in 2022 (2023MY). Could be a Stealth, Black-Appearance, Timberline, Rattler, ST, Tremor, I don't know, but I bet if the Maverick does well, we'll see more variants to the trim and optional packages.

I never understood that, but its such a cash cow.

It costs no more to paint something black than it does to chrome it, and yet they often charge a fortune for the black option, instead of just making it black in the first place knowing its probably the more popular option.

With Mercedes, opting for the "night package" to have black instead of silver or chrome will run you $3000.

Chevy was charging people $300 or so for black instead of yellow chevy emblems...

For those interested…heard back from AlphaRex today. “At the moment, we have no plans to produce a headlight for the 2022 Ford Maverick.” Can’t say I’m surprised considering all Mavs already come with LED headlights.

I'd just give it time.

I know this is a different company, but I inquired with Morimoto about XB Headlights for the Tacoma as my dad was wanting to upgrade his headlights aftering seeing the Morimotos on my truck; they gave me almost exactly the same reply. The next week, they teased a close-up pic of that same gen Tacoma lights on their Instagram and a few weeks later they had them ready to purchase. No idea why they didn't just say yes, they'll be released soon. They certainly didn't design and mass produce a new set of headlights in one week... Probably takes longer than that just to get them across the ocean.

I'm sure there will be options. I guess we should just keep emailing companies asking, that may change their mind if they're truly not considering the Maverick at the moment. Although, I suspect they've already got eyes on the Maverick, they probably just can't or don't want to confirm at this time. Sometimes there is a bit of a disconnect between customer service and their R&D who's working on new, unreleased items.

Man, I’m so close to pulling the trigger on these but I’ll tell you what’s holding me up. In the rare event that something happens to one of these headlights while it’s still under warranty, Ford is obviously going to deny the warranty. I know that’s pretty unlikely but I don’t want to be on the hook for a $1400 light!
