I washed my truck the other day and barely sprayed a lot of water on the back cover. When I opened the cover, I noticed water in the bed.

Today I crawled under the cover and had my son close the tailgate. I could see sun coming thru all 4 corners.

This is where the water is coming in. (Photos)

I have the same bed cover. It is not completely water tight. It isn't bad... But you will get some water. In hind sight I don't think I want it sealed so tight that heat can't escape... Especially in Texas. At the front of the bed near the cab are a pair of bolts on each side. You can loosen the nuts and adjust the cover back and forth. I adjusted mine as tight to the tailgate as it would let me. I still get water from a hard rain or carwash.

Mine is leaking a lot. The rear seal does not touch the tailgate at all. Can you check the corners by the bed and see if yours are like my photo. I have seen others where no body color is shown.

That should be sitting flatter on the side rail. I'll take a picture of mine this evening after I get off work.

This strip is just up a little. I just pushed it down. One concern is the back strip doesn’t go the length of the cab so that is why I see the white of the truck.
Thank you.

I tried to duplicate your shot... Mine is attached like yours.. you see just the edge of the truck bed... Which in my case is Alto Blue instead of White. I'll try to watch that corner better next time we get rain or I go through a carwash. To me it is minor... I'm not expecting it to be completely rain proof. I got it mainly to carry stuff more securely.

Just look under the cover at the corners by the cab. The tailgate can be open. You can probably see sun light. If not,
have someone use a flashlight and you will easily see the light.

Do the same by the tailgate corners. Close the tailgate and have someone shine a flashlight. You will see a light.

Also look at the rubber moulding at the end of the cover by the tailgate. The rubber moulding attached to the cover does not even touch the tailgate. There is no seal at all. My rubber moulding is even coming loose at the ends in less than 2 weeks.

PS. Make sure the person opens that tailgate immediately. You are stuck in there otherwise.

Thank you

I did move the cover closer to my tailgate. It has enough pressure to tug at a price of paper between the cover and tailgate. It's not watertight... But that wasn't my main concern.

I just went out and checked. The rubber moulding doesn’t come close to the tailgate.

On the back rails I think it’s suppose to go on top of the tailgate when it’s closed. I’m just guessing but this will help the extra rubber up at the window.
also when pressing down the cover to clip/lock the top it will help the rods support. Just a guest, wanted to see what other think?

I'm in the same boat as the OP, my install even looks the same.
Weather-stripping, gasket material whatever overhanging the front of the bed and about an 1" short on the rear.
Hybridmaverick mentioned moving the rails rearward, but I think the real issue here is the gasket on top (that is affixed).
Does anyone know how the actual manufacturer of the cover is? I'm thinking about ordering new gaskets and reinstalling with more gasket toward the rear to help prevent leaks.

I have a retractable cover and while the seal is very good, I still get a little in the bed from the car wash. I agree with you, I don’t think a 100% seal is either possible or desirable (I also live in Texas!).

I agree... In all honesty, the amount of water I get from a car wash is minimal. I got the cover mainly to protect things in the bed from either blowing out or from having someone walk off with my stuff.
