Even worst, CT will not test my 2008 f150 as it does not show the odometer reading. They take a picture of it to send to Carfax, no odometer no test.
Junked a good running truck this am because of this. Repair estimate was more than truck was worth.

I understand the desire to "disconnect" and keep your data private. However, Ford is able to use that system to see any and all Check Engine Light codes that have popped up over time, even if it's not there anymore. This can be helpful in diagnosing issues you're having that conveniently don't show up when the dealer takes it for a test drive to replicate errors.
My main reason for pulling fuse 11 was 12v battery health. It's one of several things I've done to hopefully help the battery last longer.

I am aware of the CEL codes.

Completely justified. During the winter months, remote start is constantly disabled because of low 12V power. Definitely because of all the data and "calls" being made by the onboard modules.

Years ago (90s) I was getting customers complaining that we were selling there info right after they purchased a new vehicle from us. Wasn't us; we didn't even know how to do that back then. And who WAS selling the customer's info? New York State Department of Transportation.
Many if not all states do this.

Yet the same tiny foil hat wearers are carrying around super spy devices around in their pockets.

I just got an unsolicited email from "CarFax" to alert me there are 4 open recalls on my vehicle, and that my vehicle is at Xx,xxx miles and is 1 month from needing an oil change and 1 month from needing a tire rotation.

All true.

I've not been to a dealer or any service center since recently. The miles WERE my actual miles as of yesterday.

Looks like CarFax and Ford are "sharing" your data.

All data is readily available for all vins. Would not surprise me if you are pulled over for a traffic violation after having your tag being automatically scanned and automatic check disclosing you have not had the tail light recall performed. I had bids on my Tremor from CarMax and Carvana. Sold to CarMax but get weekly price updates from carvana which are disclosing that the milage is increasing 250-600 miles per week. Your insurance company also knows this plus probably the speeds, times and locations where driven. Etc. etc. etc....

I pulled fuse 11 a week ago. No issues.

Self reported 12v battery health (charge) via OBDII is a little higher. But I did freeway driving saturday which is rare for me.

But 12v is reporting 70% vs. typical 60% today.

🤷🏻‍♂️

I worked for a market research firm that bought auto title details from the local DMV and we'd call owners to ask them about their new cars...when somebody would demand to know how we found them, we'd direct them to the DMV. Car dealers sold purchase order lists to marketers too...and this was in the 1970s. Data collection isn't new.

About 9 months ago, I bought a set of tires on my 2017 Escape. When I decided to trade it in, I changed those wheels and tires with the ones on my wife's Escape. Same wheels/tires but hers had about 40K more miles on them and she was due for new tires. Aside from having a tough time getting those alloy rims off, it went well. So, her tires on her 7 year old 'scape has about 8K miles. After doing the trade, I was following their online sale price of my old 2017 Escape and clicked on their Carfax report and it mentioned that it had been serviced at the local tire shop. ...oh well. The deal was done.
