Are you installing a swaybar on your Lobo?
Which?

This is likely next for me..
I've gotten 'used to' the Lobo/Mav cornering characteristics a bit, but still want it to corner better/flatter/less understeer-y if possible.

I wasn't aware the Lobo swaybar was already larger than the normie Mavs, until this thread.
Hey Guys,

The Ford Performance M-5490-MS Maverick Sway Bar and Bushing Kit (22-25) is actually fairly new. I don't remember it being available last month.

All of the following only applies to Mav's with 2.0 AWD:

The Ford Performance M-5490-MS Maverick Sway Bar and Bushing Kit (22-25) is an upgrade kit for non-Lobo Mavs. The Factory Diameter on the 22-25 non-Lobo is 16mm.
The Lobo rear sway bar is 19mm. Definitely a nice upgrade for the price.

Our Steeda 555-1031 Bronco Sport/Escape/Maverick AWD Rear Sway Bar (20-25) is 7/8" (22 MM) and has 3 adjustments to help dial in the body roll to your liking. Currently have 15 in inventory.

We also have a few more parts to make Mav's handle like Mini-Sport Trucks:
Steeda 555 5736 Escape/Bronco Sport/Maverick Strut Tower Brace (20-25)
Steeda 555-8224 Maverick Sport Lowering Springs (2021-2023)
Steeda 555-4136 Maverick/Bronco Sport/Escape Adjustable Rear Toe Links (20-23)

If you need help placing and order or have some more question, I can be reached at EXT 2170 and [email protected]!
steeda was very helpful with my install of their sway bar

Okay, my wife ordered one of these for me for Christmas, and there is about a 3 week backorder time. Now I am seeing that this is only listed for the 2.0L AWD models (I have the hybrid AWD). Are there any knowledgeable Ford techs out there who would know why this would not be compatible with the 25 AWD hybrid ?

Sorry. I misread your question. I didn’t see that you were asking about the ‘25. I was going by what Steeda posted on page 2 of this thread about the FWD Hybrid having a torsion beam suspension.
I emailed Steeda to see if they have an answer.

I'm not a tech, but Ford's online parts catalog suggests that the AWD Hybrid already has this thicker swaybar installed.

It appears you may be correct. I've have to check tomorrow and see if the one I have is 17 or 19mm. Thanks for your reply.

Hi Sergio - I measured my Lobo rear sway bar last week with my old manual calipers - somewhere between 24 & 25 mm. Sarah-N-Tuned measured with her digital calipers at 24.23mm. Just info - thanks for all you products!
Ford Maverick Ford Performance Sway Bar (from Lobo) can be installed & fits other trims (part # M-5490-MS) IMG_9758

Seems video did not load. It is Sarah-N-Tuned ‘s review of the Lobo from earlier this year…

From the day I ordered it to the day I received it, exactly 14 days.

I just installed the Steeda bar on my 2025 AWD hybrid, it fits just fine. Note that this is NOT the lobo bar that Steeda also sells. The lobo bar has the same Ford part # as the Hybrid sway bar in my findings (pointed out to me by Sticks). I just posted about my install in another tread.

How difficult or easy was the install? What were the torque figures?

It's a real pain actually, getting the old bar out is the issue. I'm 61, but even as a young man, I would not want to attempt this job without a car lift.

I don't know what you are asking as far as "torque figures". If you mean deflection rates, I don't know, as there is so much disinformation on what the stock bar rates are.

The nuts on the swaybar links. What are the torque specs. I just have a piece of paper with a QR code.

If no spec is available or impossible to position my torque wrench - I will tighten as hard as they were to remove. I’m not a certified mechanic by any means & would never work on another persons car.

There is a heat shield over one of the bushings in my Lobo - what kind of bolt is that?

IF your using our Steeda Sway Bar 555 1031:

11. Tighten the swaybar bushing brackets to factory specs, around 35-40ft-lbs.
12. Install the factory heat shield back by covering bushing bracket.
13. Reattach the factory end links nut with 75 lb-ft. to the Steeda adjustable swaybar in one of the 3 positions. The softest setting is the hole that furthest away from the swaybar and the one closest to the bar is the stiffest. We typically suggest starting it in the middle hole and adjusting from there. Figure 3

It gets missed kinda often, but we put our Instructions under the Spec/Install tab.
