For those Maverick owners unhappy with their vehicles and within the 3 year/36K warranty period. Ford wants you to buy a new one.

Interesting article. Only time will tell if anyone will fall into the window for this offer being made to the unhappy vehicle owner.

I am sure if any of the members here having issues with a bad truck and they take advantage of this offer, we should hear about it.

What I like about this if it is a real thing, is that the dealer has an option from Ford to try and help someone out instead of it falling all on the dealer to deal with....it is a support being made available by Ford over and above lemon law buy backs.

We will have to wait and see,

Andy

“If you walk into the dealership and ask for it, you’re probably not going to get it.” That makes a lot of sense. Then how do you get it?

From my read of the situation, dealers will know which of their customers would fall into the window for them to make an offer such as described in the article above.

The following is my thought, so if you are a sensitive shyster (crook) and prone to feeling like your feelings are being hurt don't read any further!

Too many people now are only looking for a way to get money off or back even, after they use something and don't need/want it anymore. It is people like this would take advantage of the offer, if they could.

I only have to look at Costco or even Amazon where people abuse the companies excellent return policies...not reasonable returns, but unreasonable returns.

You know who you are, and I imagine some own Fords and may even be members here, or know people who are cut from this type of cloth.

Again, my interpretation of the article above, and a bit of thought on my part as to why this type of offer can't be too widely broadcast...it is just another tool in a dealers toolbox to deal with owners stuck with a bad vehicle.

I know I had a 2004 Jeep Liberty that I would could have definitely used an offer such as this as it was the worst vehicle I have ever owned...we didn't have money to trade it in, so had to keep bringing it in while it had warranty. After that it was on my dime, and many dimes it was, to keep on the road.

Have a good one,

Andy

The dealers hold the cards. If your vehicle has been in their service department more times than both of you like, the dealer may reach out to you and say "Hey, do both of us a favor. Let's take your problem vehicle back in trade, and we can give you 10% discount from the MSRP on that traded vehicle and put it towards the new one."

Dammit, I don't qualify. I am way too happy with my Mav.
On a related note, I did go to the dealer a couple months ago and see about upgrading my 23 to a 25 when they were advertising 0% interest. Mav. didn't qualify for 0% so I didn't think about it anymore.

nah if you made your best deal it's likely less than 10 percent off - they're not going above that - you already laid your cards on the table, they'd just deny it or say it's only for very specific situations and you don't qualify.

Maybe, maybe not. The money comes from Ford to the dealer. No skin off the nose of the dealer but he/she maybe allotted a certain amount of certificates and they could be holding them for very special customers. I would absolutely bring it up after the best price was given. It depends on how bad they want or need to make the sale that day to determine if you are special or not.

Someone who is dissatisfied with their current Maverick yet still is willing to try and cut a deal to buy another is already 'on the hook'. They want a new one - their dissatisfaction hasn't affected their gleam for another one in hopes it isn't as troublesome. The Ford incentive is for those that are about to walk away from the truck altogether - throwing them a 10 percent off bait in hopes that will bring them back into the game. These are two different categories of customer - one already has the hook in his mouth and the other one is swimming away ... the dealer is tossing lures at the latter, not the former.

No, we had the 3.7 litre gas eater...we loved using the Jeep, it was so good in the snow with a good set of shoes on it...when it was working.

We used to joke with the poor mechanics at the Dodge dealer it was built after a drunken bender of a long weekend.

We brought the techs so many coffee and doughnuts every time we brought it in. They took care of us as best they could.

Cheers

Andy
