Paint correction generally is removing orange peel
I know my truck has a bunch of it, I can see in the pics yours has orange peel as well
There’s nothing wrong with leaving it as most people aren’t as particular
Mine is going to be like a mirror, I feel like color demands it
HPR looks so good already, But is going to be in another level once it’s corrected

A friend of mine does this at his business, so I'll be taking mine to him when I get my truck. Hopefully he's not retired by then.
Good comments with good humor!

Nice! I did mine myself with AvalonKing Armor Shield. The prep work is not bad at all on a new vehicle. Armor Shield IX DIY Kit - Ceramic Coating by AvalonKing $45 with WETHRIFT25 code FYI.

I agree it can be done yourself and save a big load of money. Purchase a highly rated product (does not have to be the most expensive). Religiously follow the instructions and take your time. Results: amazing.

Agreed - I did full PPF full hood, full fenders, a pillar, roof strip, mirrors, bumper, headlamps and ceramic coating for the rest of the truck. It looks great! Nice to see other members go above and beyond the get in and drive off the lot.

I highly recommend cquartzuk 3.0 as a ceramic coating. And you can DIY it really isn't that hard. Only costs about $70. Usually the hardest part of ceramic coating is the paint correcting needed before the actual coating is applied. New cars generally need less paint correction.

I plan on doing mine when it cools off a little. All you do is apply, let it flash, then wipe off. Super easy, just tedious because you have to work in 2ftx2ft sections.
Be careful in dark areas like windows. I cquartz’d mine and have a few rainbow holograms here and there. My back window had to be polished because I let it sit too long before I wiped it. Make sure your garage is very bright.
Amazing product though.

The dealer wanted $599 for a Ceramic Coat. Decent price, when I asked if I could watch the procedure the hard sell ended. Probably a scam.
A proper ceramic coating is a long process and some need to be baked under UV lights. ALSO for insurance reasons most dealers don't let customer in their shops. If someone backs out of a rack and hits you, they are liable. $599 is a great price and would probably been a great addition to your truck. Unfortunately your fear of everyone being out to get you is keeping you from taking advantage of that great deal. Good luck finding anyone who wants a customer with no knowledge of the process or product looking over their shoulder making sure they do their job right.

All true . . . BUT . . . The paint protection film (clear bra) will protect the paint from rock chips whereas the ceramic coating will NOT protect the paint from rock chips. Protection film generally applied to areas that gets rock chips. Some people do the whole car with the film, but that is over kill and expensive. Ceramic coating like you mentioned is the better way for areas of the car not prone for getting hit with kicked up debris. The seam is barely visible. YES by all means get the ceramic coating, but I would highly recommend also getting the protection film (clear bra).
You noted "the seam Is barely visible". Does this mean you apply the clear bra first and the ceramic coat is applied up to but not on the bra?

Yeah you really have to pay attention. The application is more mental than physical. I only had one high spot on my dark purple Lexus. And it was from me getting in a hurry and trying to do too big of a section at once

looks GREAT. I just can't justify paying that for a daily driver inexpensive maverick...although I do LOVE my maverick. I am deciding if I can justify it on my Bronco 2 door being built 8/30.

The $599 price and their lack of even letting me know who does it. Big red flag.

Would you by chance know any steps needed to reapply a new ceramic coating. Like do you have to take off the original cer. coating? Like with a claybar?
I don't know. I could ask my friend who does this professionally. I would guess the clay bar would remove it. For the DIY ceramic I just reapply every six months after a good wash and maybe clay bar the car too. The DIY ceramics last at least 6 months at least the better ones do . When you car is 10 years old the paint will still look great. Ceramic don't stop paint chips though,.

I used to use Klasse which is a polymer coating and moved to ceramics just a 2 years ago. I still cant believe anyone still uses wax. i haven't since 2001.

Nice, any thoughts on it for someone who lives down a dusty dirt road and has switched to cyber orange? My truck will be sirty all the time and will see mud throw every day going up my driveway. Think it will help or last or just be futile?
