Performing Maverick mods seems to be some good physical therapy! It's not painless, but it feels good to be doing something again!

I remove the toolbox from the pile of waiting mods and got to work. I did not take any pictures during the install (my bad) but the included instructions were 99.9% on point. The only thing I had to do different, was enlarge the D-pillar holes that were put there by the factory. There was too much paint for the studs to come through.

Here's a pic of it installed:

Here's where the two studs are located.. The tail light assembly has to be removed to push them through. This hinge does block off access to the 12v accessory wire, but it's super easy to pull the entire cubby out and reach the wire from behind!

The instructions say to drill out two of the holes in the plastic cubby, to insert two spacers. The holes in mine were already, so no drilling required. The kit does come with new screws and it is necessary to use them. The original bolts are too short.

If you're thinking about doing this, I think it's well worth it. This will keep junk and my jumper cables safely out of the cab!
Awesome! So, you didnt have to make new holes? They were all existing? I ask because I used to have the same box in my pickup but it needed holes to be drilled.

No new holes. Only had to clean out two with a drill bit.

Partially due to your excellent description here, I've decided to order one for my Maverick. Should be in next week. I'm waiting for this NC pollen to clear up before taking another picture. Thanks so much for the details!

I have the same tool box, I like it.

Install was easy, no new holes.

This is junk. I had two Undercover cases in my 2012 RAM and they were much more secure and built then this Ford case. After watching a poster on this sites review of the locking mechanisms this is garbage. Glad I actually saw a video since I was considering one of these but after watching the quality I think I'll see if Undercover makes one like I had before or if they went cheap like this one after 10 years. I just looked at the latest Undercover box and it has the same shetty locking mechanism as the Ford box. I guess Undercover went cheap as well because it's nothing like the two I had 10 years ago in my RAM 1500 Limited.

I'm curious if this other brand would fit on the maverick. It says it's for the F-150...

I happened to see this first thing this morning and when I was out re-arranging some things in my Maverick, took measurements of my swing out toolbox. In comparing mine to the one from VEVOR, the measurements are similar. Mine is a little over 8" wide, 15" high and 30 " long. might be the same, I guess is just depends on where the measurements were taken. Seems like, from that perspective this might work.

The challenge you might run into with the VEVOR is the mounting brackets. Will they match up with the holes in the Maverick bed or will you have to do some drilling?

I believe the Ford toolbox is just an undercover box rebranded as Ford OEM.
