For Some Fun: First Songs

I have a thing when I purchase a new vehicle. I like to listen to a song of special importance to the purchase or vehicle type.

My first car was a 1998 Toyota Camry in 2009. I listened to Summer of ’69 in honor of all the freedom I felt.

My next car was a 2017 Chevy Cruze. It was black on black and named it Betty. So Black Betty was the song. Bonus: here's a fun cover.

For my Maverick I found a sweet cover of Take Me Home, Country Roads. I'm near-ish to the Blue Ridge mountains, so it fit.

What was or will be your first song in your Maverick?

Named my "Chili Red Maverick" which I don't have yet, "PAUL", so I guess my song will be the "Long and Winding Road" which this wait has taken me on along with the interesting people I have talked to along the way.

I can't say what song I'll select when I get my Maverick, but I'm thinking Lenny Kravitz, "Are We Runnin'" could be a great choice.
I've had some interesting songs just happen when I was trading in one of my old vehicles('81 AMC Spirit) and driving home with its replacement('89 Chevy Cavalier RS). The last song which played when I was driving to the dealership was Queen, "I'm In Love With My Automobile," and the first song which came on as I left was Yes, "Lift Me Up." Both songs sort of fit the situation.

Since I'm over the year wait mark, I've had some time to put together my drive home playlist!

For the record I turned the radio on as I started my drive home from the dealer on Mon. The first song on the radio as I cruised along the coastline was Night Shift by the Commodores. The second time out, today, the first song was Fast Car by Tracy Chapman.

USB pre-populated, treble/mid/bass tweaked to ear…’Let Me Ride’ by REO. Rear glass showed a bit of deformation under dB and bass loads.

Same effect with ‘Highway Song’ by Blackfoot.

All good! 400 days cycle, driven a whopping 8 miles to get her home from from the Dealership today, more tomorrow!
