I'd like to know, too. But judging by the pictures he has a 6 speed with a short shifter. Already.I need an answer for this ASAP. I have all the paddle shift parts in my cart, but if there's a semi simple route for a 6 speed swap, I am ready.
Do they have a memory to them? I have been tossing around the idea of replacing my front with a set from a Lincoln corsair if I can find them reasonable enough.Im a big guy and they fit me like a glove. Very comfortable
i did not but im sure there will be at least 4 ppl that did it that will shortly post some videos. if not i will post some instructions if neededAny of you fine folks happen to record the install process for the ST seats to help out us less inclined?
How did the wiring work out since the xl is normally manual? Is the connector already in place or did you have to run your own wiring?
use my stock harness on the new seatHow did the wiring work out since the xl is normally manual? Is the connector already in place or did you have to run your own wiring?
Very helpful - thank you for posting. I am leaning towards replacing only the Driver's seat. From your experience, any specific seat part numbers to look for or should any 2014-2018 Ford Focus ST driver's seat work? What P/N did you order from LKQ if you don't mind sharing?Thought I would weigh in. First post but I get lots of great info here. Thanks for that. I own and run a conversion shop so lots of engine swaps, wiring, diag, etc. In my world a "bolt in" mod is take the old one out, bolt the new one in and go. These seats are NOT a bolt in mod. That being said any knowledgeable mechanic can do it in a few hours. Drivers seat is easiest. Basically remove the 4 bolts that hold the base (slider rails) onto the Maverick seat and replace it onto the Focus seat. Take the Maverick wire harness off the stock seat and replace the Focus one. Lots of clips and stuff but no biggie. Don't forget to undo the battery before hand or you will get an airbag light when you reassemble.
The passenger seat is a little more involved. You will have to use the Maverick seat base. Strip all the plastic shields off. Take the seat back off, 4 big bolts, strip the stock Maverick seat bottom off and replace with the Recaro one from the Focus seat. Bolt Focus upper onto Maverick lower, replace Focus harness with Maverick harness and reinstall in the truck. Connect battery and start to make sure no airbag light.
I'm slim. 6 ft 170 lbs. and these seats fit me very well. If you tend to the wider or bulkier direction you might want to sit in some before you go to the trouble. I got my seats from LKQ, I have an account, for $160 per seat. For me it's a great upgrade. You feel much more planted and in control especially during spirited cornering.
