IMO we are making a problem out of a non-problem. I got hit at an intersection a few years back. I had a left turn light and an elderly gentleman ran the light. I saw what was happening and came to an immediate stop. He didn't stop and didn't attempt to steer away. He just came straight ahead a caught about a foot of my front bumper with his Cadillac. I had to replace the bumper and a headlight. He lost the full front quarter of his caddy. I think he had a health issue that morning. He admitted he had run the stop sign so there was not an issue, and there was a camera at the intersection.
I think the cameras are a good idea if they help solve crimes or clarify accident fault. The link BK007 posted for the YT video on the Constitutionally of the cameras is a very good analysis. No matter what the intent, someone will find a way to adulterate the good they serve.

Then why make it easy for them? This is mass, warrantless surveillance. It will link more and more databases. You don't actually have to commit a crime to be declared a criminal or dangerous.

Flock cameras, Wally World invading my privacy?? I'm out in public and I expect no right to privacy. I sometimes look up at the Wally World camera, smile and wave - I'm just acknowledging their existence, hoping the person smiles. Wally World was instrumental in finding who took my wallet. I appreciate that. Flock helps protect me. I'm not doing anything in public that I am embarrassed or ashamed of.

I draw the line at my home. I demand privacy and I will actively defend it.

Rhetorical question: Is your dash cam invading every-bodies privacy? Oh, I see! It's OK if you do it to others (for the same reason), but it shouldn't be done to you.

To me, this subject is much ado about nothing. I'm glad I'm not concerned about it. I have other things to worry about, Maverick, for one.
