I was thinking about installing a 12volt outlet in the bed of my Maverick, I have the 110 volt outlet but want run a 12volt cooler . Why don't somebody make 12volt or USB outlet that snaps into the existing 1 3/8 × 2 inch opening in the Flexbed? Maybe someone does but I can't find it, there would be a demand for it. You could just take off the 12 volt cover, plug in the new outlet snap it in and you would be done. You could even eliminate the 12 volt adapter wires and design it to plug directly into the Flexbed wire harness. It just seems like a waste to drill a hole to mount an outlet when you could utilize the existing opening.

The product you are describing doesn't sound like a profitable venture, IMO. 12v outlets are a dime a dozen. Get a good one, not a cheap-o and DIY it.

Please be careful with the Amazon & eBay pigtails.
I ordered one that was advertised as specifically for the Maverick Flex-Bed
The connector fits but the wires are for speakers, very thin gauge.
This is fine if you want to use them for some LED lights but not if you want to max out the 15 Amp spec for a compressor/inflator.

It's not a waste if you're putting any outlets you want on the cover where a cubby should be. And you can put any combination you want there.
Nice looking install. I was going to do something similar but I installed another cubbie instead. This is why I instilled the outlets inside the cubbie.

After much thought I pulled the trigger and drilled two holes in the bed for my 12v and USB in the bed. I run a 12v cooler and have used the USB for recharging bike lights and my Garmin.

I didn't want to have to open the cubby or mount it on the outside of the cubby and I wanted it on the drivers side.

Seam sealed the edges and screw holes before installing the cover.

I think there is a market for this , it isn't a real problem for me , there are several options I could use without losing the cubby storage. But I was just
wondering if there was another option out there.

Yeah I saw the photo of Tailenders install when I replied to your reply to Tailender . I was going to get the DIBL but the salesman actually talked me out of it. He said it would cover the 110v outlet and the cubby box , so I ordered the Bedrug using my Ford Pass points. I had a DIBL in my two previous trucks and liked them , but I have to say I don't regret getting the BedRug.Just thought I'd try something different , the hybrid is different also and I don't regret getting it either.

I am glad you like the bed rug. I understand it is a good product. I have used rubber mats in all my previous pickups. I liked that the rubber mats were easy to pull out when I washed the trucks. There are advantaged and disadvantages to all of the different liner types. This time I decided to try a DIBL

I am disappointed in your dealer's response to you.

I installed my own Ford Maverick DIBL. It is marked on the back of the side panels for the different cutouts. You or your installer cuts them out depending on your trim level or desires.

Mine is cut out for the cubbies on both sides. (the left side cubbie cut-out would also be for your 110v outlet) I have cut-outs for both 12v power connections and cutouts for all the threaded holes along the sides. I installed D-rings in the threaded holes.

Another dealer to add to "The List"

Yes it is a bed rug. My friend had one in his truck for years and it was really nice. So I decided to get one for mine. Only thing I would have liked was to get the one with the sides on it too. But they didn't have that available when I got my truck. I don't plan on using my truck for anything messy so it should last a long time. Some year I'll splurge and get the complete bed cover.

I wouldn't be too hard on the dealer , He ask me if I still wanted the DIBL when I picked up my Maverick, I said yes since I did order it as a dealer add on when I ordered the truck. I was surprized by his response about the DIBL , I knew it was designed to be fiitted for the options in the Maverick bed, I'm not sure why he told me what he did, the dealership lost money! The truth is it didn't take much to talk me out of the DIBL , maybe they sold the bedliner to another custumer or possibly they didn't have one on hand, my Maverick arrived two weeks earlier the we expected , I didn't ask why. Like most Maverick owners especially Truck Club members, we on average waited a year for delivery and know more about the truck than the Dealer does. After researching all the options over the last 10 months of waiting , I was kind of on the fence about it and when it comes down to it I'm cheap. So I took delivery MSRP no dealer add on.
I am happy with the Bedrug cargo doesn't slide much , it's comfortable to walk or kneel on and it covers the opening between the tailgate and bed.
