My other truck has a fiberglass bed cover so I have no experience with a soft-fold tonneau. I picked up my truck yesterday and then drove 75 miles. The cover was flapping and I almost expected it to be ripped off. It seemed to flap worst right behind the cab. When I got home I called the salesman and asked about it, whether it may have not been installed correctly. He said he thought it appeared to be installed correctly when he looked at it so I am wondering if anyone else experiences this and if it’s normal? I also wonder if these are covered by warranty when installed by the dealer🤔

The soft roll up covers flap more than the other styles. I have a hard roll up and it is much more rigid. It wouldn't hurt to check installation... But yeah... You are going to get some movement in it.

My husband has a soft fold on his F 150 and he said that there shouldnt be a flapping at the cab. He says there is a like a ripple effect from the wind across the tonneau cover while driving but nothing aggressive. I would call your dealer and get them to check it out. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Flapping like you have described is not normal. Make sure the velcro is secured correctly, the two rear clips are secured, and if still happening just adjust tension (in small increments)

Thank you, I will try to check those things.

Thanks! I just want to make sure that it doesn’t fly off the back while I’m driving

It should NOT obstruct your view. I am glad you are going to get it looked at. Rather be safe then sorry (I know so cliche!).

I did think there might be some but the part right behind the cab concernEd me since it was securing my vision out the rear window. I would have thought it would be in the middle or by the tailgate.

You can also adjust the tension on the cover to take out some of the Flutter
Who installed the cover? If you had it put on by a dealer take it back and have them fix it or I you did TRY the tension adjustment

Oh, ok. I’m still trying to loosen the spring loaded parts at the back…pretty hard to latch when you’re a smaller woman😕

There is a bit of flapping, which is normal, but what you describe is NOT normal flapping! Don't drive it that way!
