Was very impressed today. Used a U-Haul dolly for 100 mile one way trip and averaged 29 mpg. Return trip loaded around 3500-600 pounds got 18 mpg. This was done on 93 and verified at the pump. Truck handled as good as I could have asked for for it's class

For some reason I first read this as “not impressed” and was confused. I’m glad it did so well for you! Sounds like the Maverick is standing up to the claims.

It's funny I read it the same way at first until I read his post I realized I read it wrong. Not sure why.

Only towed a 4cyl foxbody notch back, plenty under capacity. Is AWD max tow, also have a 1978 ext cab long bed. Just didn't feel like getting 7mpg when it's well within it's rating

First tow a couple days ago using a U-haul 4Ă—7 motor cycle trailer to move a very heavy cabinet (probably over 200 lbs with doors and shelves removed). Much too heavy for two people to easily lift into the bed even though it's no more than a 30" lift. The trailer was much lower with a built-in ramp that allowed the cabinet to be walked on up using lifting straps. Towing was no problem at all, barely noticed the extra weight and Maverick brakes are top notch. Very satisfied with the results of this relatively low stress test.
