Picked up our 2024 Maverick EcoBoost, Lariat, Atlas blue, Saturday. Drove it about 175 miles between visiting family in Syracuse, NY and driving 100 miles home into the Catskill mountains. My wife has a 2020 Escape EcoBoost Titanium and there are many similarities, so the learning curve was small. Around town the gas milage was in the 24 mpg's and buy the time I arrived home it was up to 28.5. The Maverick suspension was a little firmer (expected) and the rotary shifter seems slopier. Interior comfort was equal, but I miss the paddle shifters and leather wrapped steering wheel. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no road noise with the rear pass-through window opened.
I was happy with the little interstate driving I did; adaptive cruise and lane centering is such a pleasure to have. Once we left the city and headed home the fun began, up and down hills and lots of curves on rural roads. Maverick handled well and cut corners nicely. Very pleasurable trip and when arriving home I had a nice smile.
Now the build will begin. That will be a new thread.
