First glitch with infotainment

I have a 24 XLT Eco.

The last couple of times driving, I notice I can not advance to the next song while pressing the button on the steering wheel. Not able to go back, pressing the back button either.

The buttons on the actual infotainment screen still work.

All other buttons on the steering wheel work.

If I reset the infotainment, the advance button and back button on steering wheel starts working momentarily.

Mine locks up all the time. I mainly stream XM from the app. Many times the system won’t even load Apple car play. Sometimes it loads Apple car play but all the sound comes through the phone, not the system speakers. Pretty dissatisfied with Ford technology, as usual.

• If using a phone or other mobile device, have you tried restarting the device?
• If using an app, try force closing it and clearing the app cache.

Which app are you using? Android Auto is known trash. I sometimes cannot get it to start playing music unless I start it in my phone. Then it will work fine.

Android auto for me hasn't been a problem in the Maverick or any of my other cars. The other suggestions mentioned may help remedy your situation.

If the buttons still don't work, I'd call that a warranty issue. They may have to re-load the entertainment firware, or physical buttons may need replaced.

Dont know if this means anything but my wife has the newest Iphone and I have a $200 Ulefone tablet i use as a phone. The infotainment only glitches when her phone is involved.

I got my '23 Lariat in September and everything was fine for a while but lately the last month or two I've had a lot of issues recently with the infotainment system. A few times its just gone black (audio keeps playing) usually along with the buttons not working. a few times Carplay doesn't work at all, even unplugging and replugging my phone still nothing, I have to turn the car off, open/close door, wait, then try again. The last time the screen went black I googled about it and found the reset info, which was helpful, I did a soft reset while driving and it seemed to clear it up in that instance

Today I have my Maverick at the dealer for the tail light software recall, and I asked about and infotainment updates and they said there are some updates they will do, hopefully that will fix things

In reference to my previous post, the dealer said there was a TSB for Sync/infotainment updates which they performed under warranty for me
