Well it certainly "looks' like a larger dealerships with newer orders are get build dates faster than smaller dealerships with older dates. Just my opinion nothing more. You obviously did not listen to Tim Bartz Tuesday evening. He stated that the allocation system does not appear to "reward" large dealers, as allocations as a percentage look to be about equal between large and small dealers.
Are they all June and July orders?I think you should be pleased, 13 of our 17 FE are previewing today.
How can you have the dealer take off the spray-in bed liner and tonneau cover when they are included with the First Edition? If you don't get scheduled you may consider taking off the tonneau cover and the sprayin bedliner and having those put on by your dealer.
I didn't look at the order datesAre they all June and July orders?
Oh, sorry I thought you had the optional sibl and tonneauHow can you have the dealer take off the spray-in bed liner and tonneau cover when they are included with the First Edition?
Oh, maybe that person does have the optional sibl and tonneau. I assumed they ordered a FE since that's what this post is about. Sorry about that.Oh, sorry I thought you had the optional sibl and tonneau
Same exact build as mine! I ordered on July 13th and haven’t received a build date yet either!I hope your right, mine was ordered August 20, and I haven’t received an email with a build date. Lariat FE, Rapid Red, Hybrid, Luxury Package, 360 and mud flaps.
Yeah, she has an XLT. I made the same assumption at first. But then noticed XLT under her avatar.Oh, maybe that person does have the optional sibl and tonneau. I assumed they ordered a FE since that's what this post is about. Sorry about that.
And this guy who purchased from Long McArthur is unhappy because they don't have enough allocations for the amount of orders they have taken and he is waiting a long time too.Just mad at the Ford allocation system, which none of us knew anything about when we ordered. Stupid system, rewards big dealerships, while turning their backs on paying customers.
Very interesting take on that Mr Baby BearAnd this guy who purchased from Long McArthur is unhappy because they don't have enough allocations for the amount of orders they have taken and he is waiting a long time too.
It's not a large dealer or small dealer thing. Lots of large dealer customers are waiting too. Really, to get a faster result to "game" the allocation system, you need to order through a Goldilocks dealer. It's a about the ratio of orders versus the allocation at that dealer. And when you order.
You want to order when the ratio is good at that dealer (and not when your build has constraints). When Long McArthur, Granger, et al, had normal amounts of orders and lots of allocations, people could get their order relatively quickly (versus some others). But then they had received the benefit of the word on the street that large volume dealers are where people need to order to game the system. People started beating down their doors to order. I saw dozens of people cancel their orders and switch to them.
Now they are sideways with their ratios, way too many orders versus their allocations. It will eventually work out for them. Just like it will for the small dealers.
We all want that Goldilocks dealer. Oh yeah. And, if it's not too much to ask, can the Goldilocks dealers also not charge markup?
I didn't say anything about my feelings about it. I certainly didn't talk about it being fair or that I thought it was a good system. But don't be blinded either in your frustration. It's about ratio of allocation to orders. Order on the wrong side, and you're screwed.Very interesting take on that Mr Baby Bearhowever the allocation problem IS real AND unfair. My local dealership has sold roughly 250 hybrids. Each month thru the Ford Allocation system they have received 10 Mavericks a month for a total of 30 so far. Doesn't take a math whiz to figure out 1) It is not WHEN you order but WHO you order from that is important and 2) MANY people wont even get a truck this year from either my dealer or similar smaller hometown dealerships where if they had purchased from Long McArthur or Grainger or another high volume dealer they WILL get their truck this year or MUCH sooner. So really yeah, the higher volume dealers ae favored over the lower ones.
Well Im confused then. You said :I didn't say anything about my feelings about it. I certainly didn't talk about it being fair or that I thought it was a good system. But don't be blinded either in your frustration. It's about ratio of allocation to orders. Order on the wrong side, and you're screwed.
I found a Goldilocks dealer and I ordered at the right time. Now, that wasn't because I gamed the system and knew the secret sauce when I ordered. I just got lucky.
