I've got the older Jackery 1000 Explorer (they have a newer, more expensive one too):

And my cooler doesn't appear to be for sale anymore, but this one is very similar:

I also bought an insulating cover for it:

Thanks so much!! Working on my camping equipment. I love a recommendation.

That looks great! I have a side folding rooftop tent set up on a midheight bed rack so it is behind the cab and doesn't affect the mileage or noise. how do you feel this setup affects the maverick? I've been thinking of a bigger tent that sits higher.

I have not yet done a reliable mileage test on my setup, but I’m sure that the tent causes some extra drag. How might that compare to a side folding tent? I can’t say. But I suspect that the difference could be inconsequential. The aerodynamic fiberglass “capsule” that mine fits in may cause less drag than the loose fabric cover of yours, even if mounted lower. It would be an interesting test to do.

The main advantage of mine that I see over the side folding tents is when they get rained on. All that soggy fabric will need to get dried out to avoid mildew. Your tent definitely has more interior living space. But since I camp alone, that’s a non-issue for me. Everything’s a trade-off.
