I appreciate your viewpoint. I think if I give someone money they should deliver. They should make their problem my problem. They shouldn’t make their problem now a problem between me and my significant other. I don’t have a lot of patience for people who can’t keep their word. I understand people might have a ton of patience for waiting for parts, I don’t. There is no shame in my chargeback game. You tell me next week by Friday evening I’m figuring out how to cancel my order come Monday end of day.

With all that said, someone has dug themselves quite the hole and it still seems they’re taking orders. Not everyone is cut out to run a business like this regardless of how good of a product they develop.

PayPal Customer Service got back to me. I got the refund. He never responded to them either. If dude wants to be in business at all after this he's gonna have to Don Draper himself.

I hope they are right. I hate to see a business person fail. They need to understand their limitations. It is very easy to become overwhelmed.

I hope they are right. I hate to see a business person fail. They to understand their limitations. It is very easy to become overwhelmed.

No joke man. I was totally pulling for him. Really seemed to know his product and was really personable. I was picking his brain about mods that were way down the line and he seemed happy to answer every question. Very disappointed it all turned out like this.

Haven't heard from him in the fb group in awhile, one of the admin accounts "fast mavericks" has been posting, but nothing directly from him.....which is what everyone in there is asking for. Lots of questions not a lot of answers.

yeah I think he’s overwhelmed I have nothing against Ivan seems like an awesome guy. But I would have liked a response from him saying he’s looking on the web for a better deal. I don’t like being ghosted. I have a language disability so I first thought I did something wrong.

If what I read is true. That he was working a regular job, plus trying to do this as a side business. He set himself up for failure right off the bat.
There were some folks on Etsy, who thought that they could keep up with offering 3D printed dashboard cubby holders with phone mounts. They have either drastically limited their offerings or closed up shop. Owning a business even an internet Commerce business is not as easy as people think it is.

@23 Lariat I would not consider myself a connected source.
Ivan supported the MTC gathering at Carlisle Ford Nationals the last two years.
I coordinated this year's donations and therefore had repeated contact with him.
I reached out to him at the end of July to check and see how he and his family were and to thank him again for his support of our gathering.
I can't speak to why he hasn't responded to this thread or on Facebook (not a FB user), though I made him aware of concerns being raised here.
I hope Ivan comes through for folks awaiting orders.
It would be nice if he chimed in himself.
I have no further information, unfortunately. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah still no intercooler for me sadly, honestly I haven’t even started the refund process with capital one. I imagine that’s going to be a laborious route to go down given my time frame of ordering in March. I do hope Ivan is well, my best guess is that business ramped up and his supplier was producing way less than the volume coming in. I just want my product or money no hard feelings towards anyone.

Somewhere there is a middle ground. Clearly the guy loves Mavericks, and modifying vehicles, and so this isn't remotely like straight up scammers with fake FB accounts selling parts that don't exist and actively committing financial crime.

HOWEVER...

As others have already mentioned, it takes conscious effort to keep taking orders for things that you don't have, are not ordering from suppliers / manufacturers, and telling customers stories or partially shipping and leaving out critical things they need to be able to install the parts like flanges, gaskets, bolts, etc.

This is not a person that stopped taking orders and came to the public hat in hand, saying hey sorry I am behind and I'm having these issues and we are going to ask you either wait another 60 days or you can get a refund right now.

That didn't happen. Instead what happened was a few people got some parts, a few others figured out how to install it themselves and get the fasteners etc they needed, and THEN his little clique was an echo chamber of praise, and suppressed complaints and concerns.

What was probably a small issue 2 years ago festered into who knows how much money in backorders, enabled by his cadre of sycophants.

At what point does a backorder with no hope of fulfillment become the same as a fraudulent transaction from a fake FB account scammer? The money is gone and nothing to show for it.

Does he even have an accounting and inventory system? I saw several people in FB say they ordered via text. They paid with Venmo or Zelle. Does he even know who he owes parts to, and if you got a partial shipment, what parts are left?

I smell litigation.

There is a right and a wrong way to do business. At this point it's beyond "is he okay?". Someone with access to the business should have been handling things better or at least communicating.

If you are taking orders knowing you won't be able to fill them, that's fraud. So no communication plus that - I think it's obvious what happened here and I have no sympathy because of it. You do not bite off more than you can chew with other peoples money. It will never end well for you. Life happens but business must go on and that's something you need to consider when you own and operate a business that sells goods to the public. So if no contingencies were in place for communication and now we are seeing massive back orders and complaints - then it was never a business set up to succeed. I fully believe Ivan is capable at what he does, but not at the level that was being presented on this forum.

I'm just going off what I've seen since day 1 too. Lots of positive interest and praise, but not a lot of communication and it seemed more like a hobby in their spare time than a business. I also think most people would be more than accommodating for wait times - if there was reliable communication. Too little too late though.
