Call Granger and ask 😉
Ford Canada and Ford US warranty have different terms, coverage and other legal mumbo jumbo. While both allow you take your vehicle to any Ford dealer in North America for repairs, a US warranty is useless for a vehicle purchased in Canada with a Canadian VIN, and the other way around as well.

No idea why there are so many Americans post in the Canadian sub forum all the time.

Because they don't realize the post they're responding to is in the Canadian subforum. They just see it listed under Latest Posts, don't check which sub it's in, and respond from their perspective.

If you want an extended warranty you don't have to get it at the time of sale, it can be done for a while after, unless you want to wrap it up into the financing if that is what you are doing. I got extended warranty, because I simply don't trust that things will last on this truck. For me it was more about the electrical components than mechanical. Not so much the hybrid stuff even, since that is covered by the 5 year 100k km warranty on the powertrain (yes in Canada it's less than 8 year coverage given in the US sadly). Even if chances are low, if one of the headlights goes after the original warranty runs out in 3 years, that's $1400+ Cdn to replace. I just went for an 80k km option, since I don't drive more than 12-15k a year on average, which made it cheaper than going for the full 100k coverage.

From an article about extended warranties from Consumers Reports:

“The fact is, extended warranties are overpriced. That’s the reason people sell them, because they make a bundle on them in commissions,” says a money expert and radio talk show host, Dave Ramsey. “I don’t recommend buying extended warranties, ever. If you can’t afford to repair your car, then you can’t afford the car.”

I'm guessing he doesn't own a Ford...

You sure? Looks like Canada gets nearly the exact same warranties as US, rounded to the nearest 10,000 km.

B2B: 36 mo 36,000 mi / 60,000 km
Powertrain: 60 mo 60,000 mi / 100,000 km
HEV/EV components: 96 mo 100,000 mi / 160,000 km

What is the Ford warranty on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles?
Ford Motor Company of Canada offers an 8 year or 160 000 kilometres (whichever occurs first) warranty coverage for components unique to hybrid vehicles found to be defective in factory-supplied materials or workmanship.
Warranty expiration is based on time or mileage, whichever occurs first. Refer to your Warranty Guide on the Ford website for additional information.
Note: Loss of battery capacity resulting from gradual capacity loss is not covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. See your Owner’s Manual for important tips on how to maximize the life and capacity of the high voltage battery.

Because the post shows up on the "front page" in the list of the most recent dozen or so posts, and folks don't look at what specific sub it is actually in. I don't think I have gone to one of the specific sub-forums more than once or twice in my time here, and when I did, it was to make my own thread on a topic.

Same reason people freak out when a Canadian says they put in their order in October or November or.....today.

The whole Ford warranty needs an upgrade.

My last three Kias had:
5 years 60K miles bumper to bumper
10 year 100K miles powertrain

Do any of the extended warranties cover battery life loss?
The Ford warranty does not.
Some manufactures cover the battery of it falls below 70% or 75% of capacity.

I picked up my Larate Lux Tremor 1/9/23.. the dealership had many options for extended warranties.. I opted for the bumper to bumper for the full term of my loan.. I've bought many vehicles from Blaise Alexander Ford and took the extended warranties on all new and used vehicles.. EVERYTHING was covered except brakes, tires and oil changes.. well worth the piece of mind.. especially when new vehicles have so many EXPENSIVE parts that can and probably will break eventually..

picked up,. sat down and we went over the stuff. they had more packages and price points. ended up doing a 6 year 80k km one for 2100 bucks. work from home so lower km's overall so got to cut cost and get longer warranty idea. so that was nice find. but ya the part about there are many expensive items sucks lol.

Glad you got your Maverick. Enjoy the piece of mind the warranty offers. I also took a 8 year/100k mile warranty.

So truck just showed up. picking up in a few days. so they want me to get extended warranty. 2300 to get it to 5 year bumper to bumper from the stock 3 year. I really am not sure about that if its wirth it or not. The rust protection I dropped as its the one u plug into a odb2 port , like ya no.

But ya wanted to ask what others are doing for these end of sales add on. they worth it or run away screaming. No not accessories, just the extended warranty's and such.
We picked up our Mav Wed night. Sat with the finance manager for an hour after he kept trying to sell us every type of extended warranty. Funny how the price kept going down and down and his last price of $2500 for 120km up to 8 years for maintenance only pr $4300 including electrical. We decided to say no and see what is available closer to end of 3 year included warranty to see if extending warranty is worth it at that point. I was reading some US forums about a type that you can purchase online called Ford ESP.

We do keep our cars for 10 + years and both of our previous vehicles had the usual things to replace for wear and tear which brought us to a similar price point so it's pay now vs. pay later.
