No, but I'm sure Ford sells ESP at a loss out of altruistic generosity.

Good info. With this being said which would be the most reliable extend warranty company? I'm always getting these letters from Car Shield etc. Not for sure about them, or the ones that solicit your business.
Only get a Ford warranty from Flood, or Granger. Also add the light coverage (under $50) in case you need a headlight. (you have to replace the whole light) not the bulb. Lariat headlight cost $1600. each!

This is the thing WHAT is covered for the hybrid version. I called talked to woman at Ford and she said the E-cvt is NOT covered under extended warranty. Yes it comes with 8 years 100K But at 8.1 years your out of luck. That E-cvt would be so darn costly the Mav might be junk at that point.

Can anyone confirm this about the e-cvt? The brochure specifically mentions the battery not included in esp, but made no mention of the e-cvt.

@Granger Ford ?

I called Ford after I got one of those letters in the mail about the warranty. The woman I spoke to said the e-cvt was NOT covered. NOW could she have been wrong. Maybe. I guess another call wouldn't hurt call the number was 800 252 3899

It's the Transmission and a Unique Hybrid Vehicle [Drivetrain] Component which is generally covered under the plan guidelines and not one of the items explicitly excluded (High-Voltage Battery and Cables).

From the list of Hybrid Vehicle [Drivetrain] Component Warranty as covered by the factory inital warranty:

Depending on your vehicle, electrical drivetrain system components covered by this warranty may include, and are not limited to: high-voltage battery, high-voltage battery connector, high-voltage battery isolation switch (manual disconnect switch), battery pack fan assembly, battery pack sensor module (HBPSM), battery energy control module (BECM), on-board charger, on-board charger fan assembly, inverter system controller (ISC), DC/DC converter, hybrid continuously variable transmission or electric driveline motor and transmission range sensor.

Yes its covered under the 8 year 80 k mile that ALL Mavs come with . BUT from what I can tell NOT the Extended warranty from ford. So if e-cvt fails say at 85K miles your'e out of luck.

Unless someone can confirm extended warranty covers the e-cvt. But like I said I was told on phone e-cvt is NOT covered after INITIAL factory 8 year 80 K. , I wish it was covered and HOPE I was incorrectly told this.

Okay its 8 year 100 K miles. I thought it was 80 K miles. BUT that looks like the factory warranty NOT the extended warranty. I was hoping the extended warranty covered it too so if you bought the 10 year 125 K miles version you would be covered .

The main point is it would be a pretty dubious switch to declare the eCVT a hybrid unique drivetrain component covered under one warranty, but not a hybrid unique drivetrain component by the ESP where it isn't explicitly excluded.

Was 'the woman on the phone' just a customer service rep, or the authority of an actual plan administrator?

Its the phone number on the pamphlet to buy a extended ford warranty I got in the mail. I still have it 888-252-3899. Was I told incorrectly? I hope so. Trying to find an email address I can ask again.
