I have seen that rust is a problem with the Exhaust System. Has anyone ever painted the exhaust pipe and muffler with Stove Paint to keep it from rusting?
Stove Paint might be a good way to mitigate the rust problems. That paint has no problem with heat. This from a guy with a 11 month old Maverick.

🤔 I would say if you have access to a garage lift. Go ahead and paint it with high temp paint it is not going to hurt anything. Bearing in mind exhaust systems and mufflers rust out from the inside out because a condensation and exhaust gas acids.
Here is a YouTube video that gives a quick tour of stuff underneath the Maverick. You want to go to about 10:30 minutes where he is showing rust on the muffler.

Strictly for aesthetic reasons.
Using flat black high temperature paint. I painted the ends of the muffler and tailpipe of both my Encore and my Yaris. I did not like seeing any of the silver muffler and tailpipe hanging just below the bumper
Good luck
If you paint it. Please take pictures.

Exhaust systems mostly rust from the inside out from condensation and cold start-up vapors so, IMO, paint is likely not going to extend its life to a meaningful degree.

I don't know that I would say that the Maverick exhaust has a problem with rust. I haven't HEARD of anyone having to replace a muffler because of it. I haven't changed a muffler on a car since most have been made from stainless steel. However, in the pre-stainless steel days it was common to replace muffler every few years. Muffler shops were always busy. We'll need to wait a couple more years to see how the Maverick fairs.
And I agree that paint won't help much.
Cheers

Did you paint it on any other vehicles you've owned?

2024 with 12,000 miles. Drove it off the lot and into the snow (Wisconsin) but only 2-3,000 of those miles were in winter. Thought about painting it but above replies convinced me otherwise. As soon as it’s rusted through or the exhaust note changes it’ll be getting torn off and replaced with something stainless.

Never have painted anything But I have replaced them. and seen videos of how rusty the Maverick gets. Fords have always been prone to rust. F150's rocker panels always rust out. My Ranger wheel wells and bed rusted out. ASA Exhaust on my Lexus or Honda's .. There was never a problem with rust like Fords. I will definitely undercoat my new Maverick when I get it with an oil film rust preventive. Probably not a good idea on the exhaust system.

This was my Maverick Hybrid when it was 11 months old. Ford district manager agreed it needed replaced but I traded it in before they could.

Have you seen there is a problem with rust or did you watch the video where the guy bitched about it? There are lots of places under cars that look rusty and are fine forever. If your exhaust failed in front of the cat it would fail an emissions test (if your state has one) and would thus be subject to the 8 yrs/80,000 mile emissions performance warranty.

No I haven't TwoTone.. But I have also not seen this issue happen so fast on most vehicles.

Pretty generic statement not based in any actual fact.

You actually want to protect it? You'll need to have it sandblasted and ceramic coated. I'd guess at least $500 to do it right. Any other paint is going to burn off, especially when bathed in salt during the winter.

Me? I'd let it rust. It'll take many years to actually rust thru, if it ever does. It is a low-grade stainless steel, and is covered under your powertrain warranty, which is 5 years / 50,000 miles (could be longer - I read 8/80 above).

What does a new exhaust system cost, anyways? Probably about what it'll cost to have it ceramic coated.

I like the stainless steel exhaust idea. I did it to my 2002 F150 when I bought it. All joints welded and it looked great when I sold it in 2024. I may do it to my 24 Maverick soon.
