Well said!

I am new here, ordered my 2023 Maverick on 9/17/22 and fascinated by all the folks who have waited 1+ year for delivery. I am still naively hopeful I will get mine sooner.

Regarding the comments, I used to be a moderator on a different site and gave it up after 3 years because just didn't want to deal with it anymore.

Good luck!

Well Said!!!
You ever seen the old classic youtube video "Papa Smurf lick my ass" because your avatar makes me think of it.

Recommend not watching at work due to language but that's the only nsfw thing about the song really.

You are right. People are too quick to snap. Also the default answer to many legit questions is "you wait"... How about answering the question, pointing where to go, or not responding?

People also want to vilify Ford like they are doing this on purpose. I am no fan boy, they have done plenty wrong. But this is a new model, new sales approach, in unprecedented times for manufacturing difficulties. Just know you will have to wait. And Ford has thousands of orders to process so expecting a ton of updates is setting yourself up for disappointment.
Agreed. Hopefully Ford learned a lot by over promising and under delivering during the first year’s growing pains. We can only hope that since the order banks closed so quickly for 23 they can get their act together.

For me my Maverick was more of a want than a need. I've been wanting a truck for a while, ever since I got rid of my last truck 15+ years ago. I have a job that requires a lot of driving so having a truck with poor gas mileage wasn't going to work. When I made the decision to order a Maverick last August I knew there would be a wait. I knew that I would get it when I got it and until then I would just continue enjoying my Civic.

Good points. And a positive attitude. I remember telling my Dad about 7 years ago that someone should be making a small pickup. What I wanted was another Range like my 2001, standard 2-door or maybe a club cab. Mine got me 30 mpg highway. I started reading this forum about a year ago to learn about the Maverick. Up front pricing was great and fuel economy was great (hybrid). I don't want a 4-door but that's what they make. The bed is shorter than I want but I can make do because it is well-thought out. And knowing that some have waited over a year for theirs, I know that going in. I have no expectations of quick delivery (hope, maybe). Of course I don't need a truck right away like some buyers. I'll just keep driving my Ranger hoping used vehicle prices keep some of their inflated value. So, yes, there are compromises.
I do agree with Edrobyn that closing order banks quickly was a step in the right direction for Ford.

In my year and a half here I've read a half dozen or more of posts just like this. Guess what? Nothing changes.😥
That's because the negative outweighs the positive. More rational posts and things will change.

I'm one of the "don't specifically need the Maverick but wanted one" club. Had many F150's over the years, life changed, scaled back to Ford Escapes, then life changed again and I'm driving an EcoSport now. Saw the 2022 Maverick but things didn't permit me getting one then, but I was able to order the 2023 thankfully. I've always just bought or leased off the dealers lot, so this is a new experience for me.

I knew going into this that it would be quite a while before I got it reading everything here after becoming a member here. Nothing I can do about it. I've also learned about dealer allocations, and constrained parts, and in general the whole process of ordering a new vehicle which I've never done.

I'm a patient person for the most part, so hopefully some time next Spring or Summer i'll be cruising around in my new Maverick!

I can NOT agree with this is a new process. FORD repeatedly got it wrong with the Bronco, the Lightning and 2 years of the Maverick.

Why does it seem like current model vehicles (such as the ranger) just keep getting larger each iteration until they realize its a completely different vehicle now. Then they have to release a new vehicle to fill the gap.
