Hi everyone,
I took delivery of my long awaited Maverick Hybrid just over two weeks ago. I wasn't happy with the extended service plan options offered by the dealer so I have been doing some research.
I called around and found that different local Ford dealers offer different 3rd party plans but they are similar in coverage and price to the official FordProtect plans. They all tell me that the pricing is state regulated so they cannot give any special discount and that's why we cannot take advantage of the more competitive pricing offered in other states. I did a quick check online and sure enough, if I just change my state to another, prices are immediately lowered by more than half!! But, this point has been discussed in the past threads so I am just confirming it...
So, my conclusion is that for comparable prices, I would just go with the manufacturer backed FordProtect ESP. Then, I found that Lombard Ford offers FordProtect at a discount simply because they do not charge Sales Tax. Also, for a limited time, they are offering to FL residents complimentary maintenance that includes 5x Oil/Filter/Tire rotation (see below). So, I went with them.
I thought I would share what I learned, just in case a fellow Floridian could benefit from a small saving...
