EGR Valve code in 2023 -- anyone had it fixed (TSB supposedly applies to 2022?)

600 miles of ownership, I got in my truck at work, drove just 2 short miles home and shut it off, and before I got to the door I got a notice from Ford Pass with a check engine / get service message. Checked the code, the P0402 code, EGR thing. I'm aware there's a TSB (22-2493 and then 23-2059 which superseded it), but both say it applies to 22 models. Mine is a 23. Anyone with a 23 seen this, and if so what all was involved in the fix. I seem to recall it involves replacing the EGR valve and often requires waiting interminably for a part?

Same thing happened to me around 400 miles. After a few days, the CEL cleared itself then reappeared around the 800 mile mark.

Dealer replaced an EGR Sensor of some sort.

Problem solved...

EGR Vacuum Control Solenoid - Repair or Replace
A failed EGR vacuum control solenoid will often have no noticeable symptoms beyond a check engine light, but it does cause your Ford to operate inefficiently and produce higher emissions.

Thanks. I drove to the dealer to get the process started, emphasizing I want to make sure they have part in hand before I show up for service, as I've read so many stories of that not being the case. Waiting on a call back about that, person to do that wasn't in yet.

I'm assuming safe to keep driving until they get to it? Asked service advisor that, he said "How's it handling?" No issues there at all, if it weren't for the light and message I'd have suspected nothing.

I knew this was an issue with 2022, kinda surprised the 23's obviously didn't correct it?

It depends on what part is actually bad which will necessitate them actually doing the diagnostic work for the warranty process. It could be either the EGR itself or the DPFE sensor that monitors the EGR flow.

FWIW, the very next time I drove the truck the code cleared itself. Might have just been a hiccup. Next available dealership appt was 7 weeks out, should give adequate time for it to reoccur if it's going to, but hope not.

Just got a call from the dealership and the egr valve was bad and they replaced it.... Way faster than the week plus turn around they told me when I dropped it off
