Prolly looked it up from the misread license plate. Along w/ the photo of the Taco tailgate, there is a photo of the dash, but there is a card over where the VIN is showing. I can't believe that he planned this, but it is a funny happenstance...

For a minute or two, that's exactly what I thought, damn, that looks so real! But then I noticed how high that lower lip on the license plate frame ran, and I was like, ohhhh.

The Tacoma has 89932E4. @Alfetta159 has 89932F4. But the license plate frame on the Toyota makes the "E" look like an "F". Meter maid punched in 89932F4 and printed the ticket.

I had something similar, but from opposing localities. I kept getting automated toll violation tickets because my license plate was one letter off from the offender's license plate. But I'm in Los Angeles with a Nissan, and the toll violations were happening on a Ford Super Duty in the Bay Area.

I contested each one and it was always an open-and-shut case because...it clearly wasn't my vehicle. I'm sure it'll be the same for @Alfetta159 since the make/model/license plate on his car clearly doesn't match.

After the third toll violation notice within two years, I had a lawyer friend send the toll company a cease and desist letter. Haven't gotten another one since.

Funny thing is, I just read an article recently that cops in FL were writing tickets for license plate frames for this very reason.

Your license plate has much more of the "2" showing, so yours has an F, not an E. What exactly is juxtaposed ? It's obviously 2 different license plate numbers.

Or get the Judge to issue the Toyota owner a ticket for an obstructed plate.
