Picture of a GPF on a 1.5ltr Bronco Sport built in Hermosillo 3/25. None of our Mavericks have them…yet. Air sensors & Temp sensors yikes:

Production started this month on the Maverick with GPF. However they are constrained by the supply chain and only putting them on CARB state vehicles at this point. They are removing the 50 states package from all other orders outside of those states.

My Lobo Job 3 order has a production date of 7/21/25. Even though I’m in non CARB Arizona, I did not want to chance an early delivery of GPFs….so I bought one from dealer lot. Checked underneath to make sure too. Only thing worse than being an early adopter is getting a prototype build!

Just another expensive part to go bad IMO.

it's integrated to the catalytic converter so a person would expect to have 2 oxygen sensors and 1 temp sensor in it.

what we don't know is if you have one of these and you install a ford catalyst without gpf does it generate any errors? and if you install an aftermarket high flow catalyst, does that generate errors?

I bet that GPF will generate errors even if you leave it be:)

lol eventually it will. they've been on european Ford engines a while now without drama, but people do speculate that it will have a shorter service life than the catalyst.

I can't tell if it's an easy work around if one is so motivated or if the mid and rear sensor just made offroad exhaust an unholy PITA

I can confirm that my Kansas delivered 2.0 does not have a GPF. Build date was 13June.

Enjoy your new EcoBoost without the GPF (not that there is anything wrong with that):)

Job 3 is just starting production - GPF Mavericks may start showing up in CARB states starting late August & early September?

So what is that mesh above it? Asbestos?

I can assure you without looking that it is not.

That said, scrolling up to the OP's screenshot, it is likely an embossed metal heat shield as is already used around many vehicles, including the Maverick.

100% agreed. it could be a composite core of some kind, such as fiberglass, but it's absolutely not asbestos. 😆
