So after eating lunch today in my Lariat while listening to the radio in accessory mode I started the truck and headed home. While driving I decided to close the driver window (only window open other than sunroof). The window would not close, none of the other windows would operate from the driver door switches. The mirrors were inoperative as well as the window lockout button. I stopped for liquid gold (gas) and shut off the truck, got back in and restarted the truck and still no window operation. Got home 5 minutes later and investigated further. I found that the other 3 windows would work at their respective door switches but not at the driver console of switches. I closed the garage and went to my computer to do some recon. I called my dealer and he said bring it over in an hour. In the meantime I found a guy on "Maverick Chat" who had the exact same problem. He mentioned after waiting 30 minutes while eating dinner he went out to the garage and tried the windows again and everything was working. He did take it to the dealer and they ultimately replaced the driver door switch/mirror switch unit and said that the plant in Mexico has been using old stock switches from the Escape and Fusion which have known function issues. Of course when I called my dealer to reiterate the whole story he said he cannot order a part without the truck duplicating the issue. So when it acts up again I will get it over there.

It looks like there is a TSB on it. FORD TSB #SSM 50458. Check out this thread

Hey there! I can look into your Maverick's window concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info?

I have had this happen three times but I cannot reproduce it at will. When it happens, all controls in the driver door switch cluster stop working (windows, mirrors, etc). The general sequence is to drive the vehicle, end with the window down, park, and exit. Then return, drive away, and the maverick has completely lost communication with the driver switch cluster and I can’t roll up any window. The other door switches work fine so (using those switches) all the windows can be rolled up except the drivers. Nothing can recover control other than turning off and waiting the 20 minutes or so for something to timeout or go into sleep mode. Then pretend nothing happened, start normally, and the switch cluster works again.

I roll my window down frequently, and this communication loss with the cluster is a rare occurrence. When it has happened, I had done something unusual. For example, once I backed out of garage turned off and started to get out but turned on just to roll down the window. I left the door open for a few minutes and then closed the door (window down). Then maybe 20 minutes later I returned and when I started driving the switch cluster was dead.

another time, I did something similar but I maybe I had left the key in the “on” position when I got out… I am not sure. …or I may have reached through the window to press the unlock button to unlock the tailgate.

unfortunately, it seems to be a combination of time and sequence and since I often park with my window down and don’t realize the cluster is dead until sometime later when I get back in and the window won’t roll back up. By then, I cannot remember exactly what I did when I last left.
