Oh, I thought it was going to be a stainless cover for the cheap plastic on the sill. Disappointed that it's yet another corporate logo sticker.

If I lifted the hood on a modern vehicle I would have a clue other than checking the oil level

Trust me very simple install.

I think it's a good idea to have some protection on the painted door sill area and there's a bunch of options out there depending on need and looks. I have them on mine, but I've found that the area that receives a larger part of my foot traffic is the plastic area just above the sill. With that in mind, i covered them with these protectors made by Maxzina. Pretty good fit, thick and sturdy.

If you have a child / teen that does any kind of sport with cleats, rear kick plates are highly benificial to protect the paper thin factory paint.

If you're carrying groceries or other heavy / bulky items that need two hands because why drag the cart all the way to the parking lot, being able to pull the latch with your 1 -2 free fingers and let it drop slowly without the need to guide it down or let it slam is a really nice convenience.

For the hood, the need for struts is a head scratcher, especially the hybrid. I'm changing the oil maybe once every 9 - 12 months, and wiper fluid a few extra times a year. Not worth a $99 mod or risking the double pull latch not opening properly.

I did the struts just for the hell of it. $40 on Amazon.
