Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but it seems like the dome light on my 23 Maverick XLT has been acting different lately.

I know there are 3 selector positions; on, off, and door.

But when it is set on door, it doesn't seem like the dome lights are going on when I open the door like they used to.

The owner's manual is...vague at best.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm, I just got this truck in February. Is it reasonable to think that the battery is already on the decline? I don't drive the truck every day, but frequently (at least 4-5 times per week), though not usually on long trips.

Seems hard to believe the battery is degrading that fast, but I suppose that could be the case.

I drove it yesterday, and when I got to where I was going (about a 20 minute drive, mostly on the interstate) the dome light seemed to work as it is supposed to.

Plus, I AM getting notifications from time to time through my FordPass app that the "Vehicle has entered Deep Sleep mode to conserve battery energy..."

So...maybe that's it?

fyi, yes, I do know how to spell "behavior."

:ROFLMAO:

I just suck at typing, and sometimes forget to proofread my spelling before I hit the "enter" button...

There have been issues. Some weak from the factory batteries, some bad cabling from engine bay to 12v battery, and some unknowns....

I started a thread last week on the same topic. Also did a lot of reading on this forum about 'deep sleep'. My dome lights didnt function correctly unless I took a 60 minute drive, which charged the battery' to max, and they worked perfectly for 2 days. Come to the conclusion that the battery supplied by the factory is a POS. Also, because of all the electronics that continue after the switch is off, the parasitic load draws enough of the battery so the lights are canceled, until the battery is charged again. Two things to do to help this: Get off the Ford App, and use the key fob to lock the vehicle even sitting in the garage. It will help extend the max charge on the battery..........or go buy a top of the line battery.
