Don't forget that X plan also limits dealer fees to $100 which can be a significant additional savings depending on what the dealer charges.
Saves me another $195 on my OTD cost.

X-Plan for us, through husband's employer who is partner level, got the $1500 over MSRP he agreed to pay when we initially ordered, off our final invoice this past Wed. In the original order paperwork X-Plan only showed $500 off. It also limited the 6 yr maintenance plan he added on to $2k and the extended warranty to 6 yrs was limited to $2k.

One nice thing on X-Plan is the paper work pricing is controlled. Ford sets a maximum. If Dealer accepts X-Plan the paperwork pricing has to be accepted.

Pricing Formula

  • The AZ-Plan price is the amount shown on the line labeled appropriately near the bottom of the factory invoice. The New Vehicle Purchase Program price includes advertising, finance costs, transportation, and Company Administration Fee.
AZ-Plan
Dealer Invoice - Holdback - Advertising Assessment + Administration Fee* (see sample invoice)

  • X-Plan is a pre-determined price based on dealer invoice or A-Plan price depending on brand. The X-Plan price is noted on the dealer invoice.
X-Plan

FordDealer Invoice - (0.4% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee* (see sample invoice)
LincolnDealer Invoice + (0.6% * Dealer Invoice) + Administration Fee* (see sample invoice)
*$275 Administration Fee.

You will have to make sure the dealer honors this. I live in Michigan where almost everybody who buys a Ford has employee pricing and dealers still charge the maximum doc fee allowed by the state. Either they don't know about it or they don't care. I paid $230 for doc fees which is the max allowed in Michigan. After a back and forth with the dealer I got refunded $155. They will try to say they are required by the state to charge everyone the same but Ford has a solution for that. Here is the doc policy language from Ford:

"Dealers will be permitted to assess up to$75 (AZ-Plan) or $100 (X-Plan)in documentary fees on each delivery to an eligible purchaser under the terms of the Plan, unless otherwise provided by state or local laws or regulation. Each dealer is responsible for complying with applicable laws or regulations. What if I am in a state that allows the dealer to charge more than $75? Unless otherwise provided by state or local laws or regulation: In states where dealers are not permitted to charge as much as $75 (AZ-Plan) or $100 (X-Plan)for doc fees, dealers would be capped at the lesser amount as provided by the state. In states that permitted more than $75, dealers would be permitted to charge the Plan customer $75 (AZ-Plan) or $100 (X-Plan). In states that permitted more than $75 and also required that all customers be charged the same amount, dealers may charge the Plan customer $75 (AZ-Plan) or $100 (X-Plan) and indicate any additional fees have been paid by Ford Motor Company as part of the AXZD-Plan Program dealer reimbursement on the buyer's order."

Sounds like the dealer made up the $500 they missed on the front end with X-plan with what they charged for the maintenance and extended service plan.
I wasn't happy husband added those extras but if that's what it takes to get him to take the thing in for oil & maintenance then I'll accept it haha he ruined an F-150 w no oil changes for 3+ yrs. No excuse especially when he is a MS Mech Engineer. I'm more excited we got the Mav than he is! He just thinks of vehicles as a box w wheels 🤯
