I could see stretching the Jeep Renegade into a pickup. I think that would be a hot seller.
I have a 2.4 Trailhawk Renegade. Overall nice rig but it would need serious changes to compete with the Maverick.
180hp isn’t enough as is., the handling would have to be improved and it only has a 2000 pound tow capacity.
So they would not only have to add a couple of feet for the box, and design all that, plus add about 70hp without lowering fuel economy, update the handling and double the tow capacity.
all while keeping about the same sticker price.
Thats a tough go.

Looks like a toned down Santa cruz.....the diesel would interest me except non Cummins Diesels from dodge have a less than stellar reputation to be nice. .
You don't want that engine. They've been stuffing various versions of the thing into European econo-boxes for almost 20 years and they all eventually end up with cooling problems.

Sort of an interesting little vehicle (not quite a truck).

The fog lights and front parking sensors might be really useful. (Ford, are you reading this?)

The model for El Salvador comes with a rack for your AR-15. You don't want to leave home without it...

180 HP that tows 2,000 pounds sounds an awful lot like a hybrid Maverick. Of course Jeep would need to offer different powertrains but a compact Jeep truck would be a hot seller.

The cabin in the pic looks good. A definite upgrade to the Maverick interior. JMO.
