If tire diameter, tread compound (softness/stiffness), tread contact and total assembly weight are similar, no difference in performance will be noticed. That should be pretty obvious. The biggest difference will rest in the heart and mind of the owner. Does it matter if your Mav wears fancy rims or work truck style rims? I think what matters most is the fantasticalness of the Mav it's attached too. That's what's most cool.
