I thought about that, but I didn't want an exposed wires running around/under the center console. I guess you could splice one in from the circuit, but that would end up being more of a PITA than my method.
Definitely a possibility, but nothing a vacuum and some electrical cleaner couldn't handle though. I had an OEM one facing up in my Civic and never had an issue.
Get one of those stackable console organizations off Amazon. I keep everything else in that and only my electronics in the bottom.
Get one of those center console organizers off Amazon. I keep all my other junk in those trays and keep the bottom of the console clean for my electronics.
I like your idea but the only thing I could keep in the bottom would be a rechargeable flashlight or something not used too often. I'd hate to have to remove the trays to get to something I'd use often even though they would make it easier to get access to the bottom.
