DIY Bike rack with the wheels on

I wanted to build a rack for 2 bikes that could serve double duty as a stand in the garage when not in the truck.

The 2x4s on the ends were supposed to slot into the flexbed pockets to anchor the rack in the bed.
In classic "I cut it three times and it's still to short" fashion, between the drop in bed liner flex & those front slots being sized better for a 1 by than a 2 by, it was looser than I wanted. A couple strips of spare molding and some hot glue tightened it up nicely.

I like that you made a dual purpose rack. Now when you don’t need it in the truck it’s not in the way in the garage, it’s storing the bikes there too!

Yep, it's just a friction fit. Between it's weight and the bikes it's pretty solid. The straps on the bikes are also angled forward a bit, so that helps pin everything against the floor and cabin wall too.

I think ford did a good job with the location of the bed pockets and the D rings. If it was necessary, I could flip them up and easily bolt through the rings into the 2x4's.
