I have 10 radio presets.
These buttons usually cycle between the 10. Nothing else.

Sometimes I want to "scan" to next available signal, not a preset.

I swear I can use these buttons to scan sometimes and sometimes not. I don't consciously know how I'm getting in and out of that mode.

Any ideas?

If I know where I want to go, like 106.9, holding down a button will take you there. But you need to be quick with the trigger finger to stop right on time, and of course this takes your eyes off the road.

Anyone know how to "scan" radio stations from the steering wheel? TIA

Edit:
I just figured it out on the drive home. Hold one of the arrow keys down until "just" the sound on your current station goes silent then quickly release.

It stops on the next station.
It never stops on dead air or static.
If you hold too long you may jump over one good station. But with a little practice you won't. And you can do without taking yours eyes off the road.

Have you tried double tapping? I don’t have my maverick yet but I had an old aftermarket stereo that you double clicked the button to scan to the next station. Similar to what you said, one click switched presets, hold would cycle through the Channels until released and a double tap would scan to the next station. Just brainstorming.

I tried that 3 or 4 times. Just went to presets. Usually two ahead! Unless there is a precise cadence needed. ?

Nope, that is the only idea I had. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Hold down the scan button, that's how mine works. If there is a certain station you need to stop on, I know there is a display method if doing so with a slider.....which defeats the purpose of keeping your eyes on the road.

Holding down "fast forwards".
Which is not the same as finding next station. Seek or scan. Can't remember the lingo. I want it to "find next".

I'm still trying to figure out how to set the radio presets 😀 I may have to actually look at the owners manual...
