I had my Maverick back to the dealer for service. Top of the list was completing the side curtain airbag recall. I also had two items I expected to be covered by the warranty. The first was a common complaint shared by many, brakes grabbing during light braking below 6 mph (TSB 23-2060). The other was the truck perpetually entering into deep sleep mode (SSM 51449). The dealership held my Maverick for a day and a half. They completed the recall with no visible complaints. For the grabbing brakes the tech "performed software updates to the PCM, SOBDM-C, ABS, and BECM in FDRS. Cleared DTCS." The fix for the deep sleep mode problem involved "performing DTCS software update on FDRS and clearing DTCS". Also, the 12V battery failed load testing and was replaced.
I'm satisfied with the work they performed for the recall. The vehicle has not entered into deep sleep mode since I returned home. It's difficult to say that the work on the brakes led to any change. I'll give it a little more time. In addition the dealership changed out a burnt out bulb in the third brake light housing that I was unaware of as not working. All and all not a bad experience, especially since there was no charge.
Now let's see if Ford follows up with a Yeti!\
