You have to hold the start button on your phone down until the phone tells you it has cranked. Do not let up on the button. You do not need to do this for the lock and unlock functions.I’m awaiting delivery of a keyless entry keypad for vehicles without factory remote start for my ‘24 XLT hybrid with the luxury package and Ford 360. I admit to now being totally confused whether my Maverick has “factory remote start” or not . The vehicles’s window sticker says I have remote start through the Ford Pass app. My key fob has four buttons, one indicating a need for a double tap. The owner‘s manual seems to indicate that button is for remote starting. Yet, when I stand in proximity to the vehicle and give the button a double tap, nothing happens other than I get a momentary red light showing above the button on the fob. There is no apparent reaction from the vehicle or on the dash display. So my question - am I supposed to have factory remote start. If yes, am I to assume the key fob is not working as it should. One way or the other I may have the wrong keypad being delivered and Ford says they do not accept returns for the item. Help!
you must also make sure your phone is paired to your truck on the Ford Pass app. My Ford Pass was originally paired to a previous Ford truck and not the Maverick. If you already have a Ford Pass account I think you can just add the Maverick to it.
if this doesn’t help take it the the dealership and have them check it for you.
