Wow, ordered in January with not one but two constrained items (CP360 and SIBL) and yours is built already. I ordered an XLT with Lux as the only constraining option on 12/28 and haven't heard anything yet.

Dealer said the order is confirmed. When I mentioned maybe I'll take out the lux to try and speed the process up, all he texted back was "your decision." He's not exactly the chatty type.
Sadly, there are people who ordered a week or two after me who have already received their Maverick but as far as I could tell they were XL eco with no options. Sounds like you might have ordered from a smaller dealer?

Yeah, I guess it's an average dealer size. I wouldn't say it's large, they seem to have around 60 to 70 Fords on their lot at any one time, and some other used vehicles.

But Ford said in a post on this forum that they're not doing the dealer allocation thing for the Mavericks any more, right? Although I have no idea when they actually implemented that change.

nobody has been waitng since before they went into production. Timeclocks for production and delivery started for ECO in September and Hybrid in November. 🙃
They order in June so they've been waiting since June

I have a feeling that's just more smoke being blown up customer's behinds from Ford just like the "we'll cut allocation to dealer's charging ADMs", yeah, right. . The dealer network is Ford's true customer, my dealer alone has been getting 10+ Mavericks per month because they are on the larger side. They depend on those incoming units to pay their much higher operating costs compared to a small time dealer. Higher property taxes in a major metro area, higher insurance costs I'm sure, higher utility bills for a much larger physical building. The dealer network would be pretty irate if Ford suddenly caved and didn't honor the allocation system which has been in place for a long time. I'm not really buying it considering they changed it supposedly "as soon as" they realized orders far outnumbered their estimates. They've known that for a long time and yet here we are with people with much older orders, some even basic orders still waiting. I'm not buying it at all......I think it's just some marketing BS they're saying to save face.

then take the initiative and investigate why? Start with your dealer maybe?
I've done such. He told me he was going to contact his Ford rep and see if he could get some answers. Looking through these threads it seems that Ford is kind of all over the place with how they're manufacturing, they're clearly not doing FIFO. I just don't understand how people that ordered in October for example, have received theirs. I don't believe this is a dealership issues more so than a issue with Ford and however whoever decides the order of manufacturing. I'm just disgruntled by Ford constantly saying they do the oldest orders first and yet they don't.

Read my post above, you specifically are not Ford's customer, the dealer is, the dealer buys it from Ford at one price and sells it to you at another. Ford is saying one thing but I believe they ultimately have to keep THEIR customers happy which are the dealerships........

Ford never said it was FIFO. The scrambling on production is very much impacted by parts available and what options you chose + hosed global supply chains coming off that stupid pandemic. Also, Ford said they only "recently" switched to processing oldest orders 1st- but it wasn't always the case.

They order in June so they've been waiting since June
Only in Bizzaro World! Ford clearly stated Production and Delivery would "start in Fall 2021". Nobody with 2 brain cells to rub together should expect they would get their truck during June, July, August, or even be in the 1st limited production runs as the factory ramps up- despite what some clueless or unethical salesperson may have told them. Some of the Amazon Prime brainwashed buyers with the "I want it NOW!" expectations are using this place like their own personal crying room and all the bellyaching is getting real old. If you can't wait- then don't- and move along to your other options.

BTW: do you know what the average time to get a new built cookie-cutter home is after you sign your Contract? 6 months. If it's a custom built home expect to wait 9-12 months after you buy. Car buying with transition to the new special order system is no worse.

Be careful with your logic and common sense Old Ranchero, some of the fascist moderators here might give you a warning for speaking the truth.

I'm sure this has been asked ,but I'm new and just don't have the time to read all the threads. I wish I did. I'm curious, does anyone know what order date they are working on now. For example in April will they still be filling orders from last fall? Does it seem like things are moving along? I'm thinking for those of us that ordered in January most likely will not get a ford Maverick 2022.
