I don't trust this "news" source. They use this forum as a source. I think and hope Ford has run the numbers and isv shutting down Maverick hybrid orders at the number they can produce. The reason you can't order them till summer is because they're saying that they can't produce them.

I was told: "best bet, order one...it'llonlytake 8-12 weeks." I specifically asked what the likelihood was they would be delayed, as Bronco owners were told the same, then later told a year or more. Glad I didn't order one and called 20 dealerships until I found the one I wanted:

What delay did they talk about. The topic they linked to was just that Ford was cutting off new orders as of Nov 15. They can not continue to build a 2022 YM indefinitely. The is a limit to the manufacturing capacity of the factory.

Doesn't surprise me at all. They should shut down, stop orders, and rework what they have while they have the time to make an even better model.

The article is incorrect and I have to agree with @mamboman777. Ford has sold out of the Hybrid this year but will continue to produce as many as they can. There are hybrid build dates in December and come tomorrow we should see a bunch for January.

The only thing they're shutting down is the ordering system, and only for the Hybrid. You can still order an Ecoboost. They will still be producing the Hybrid up until the point they are transitioning over to MY2023 which will most likely be sometime in the Spring of 22. Even then, it shouldn't take long at all to transition the assembly lines from one MY to the next and the should be minimal down time.
