Deep Sleep Warning... but not...

I have a 2.5 month old 2025 Ford Maverick XLT hybrid, with a Ford AGM 12v battery. This evening my Ford app delivered a Deep Sleep notice.
I went to the garage and was able to start up with no problems. My OBD2 software said the 12v state of charge was at 42%, which is typical over time.
Took the truck for a half mile drive, SoC went up to 48%.

Not sure what to think about this warning... Thoughts?

My 23 lariat had the same problem. After 2 services and a total of 5 days working on the problem. The final fix was replacing the 12v agm battery. No problems going into deep sleep in over 8 months. Fingers crossed!!!

From my testing, my 2022 goes into deep sleep when the 12v battery drops to 12.1-12.2v.

If yours is getting to 9.5v it probably needs replaced.

In my experience, at 12.1 it goes into a partial battery saving mode, not full sleep. The accessory power turns off with the truck instead of staying on for 90 minutes like it should. (12 volt socket on the dash and Flexbed power.)

Those on here claiming that the deep sleep problem is a "feature" are buying the same koolaid that Ford is drinking. If your battery is down to the low state of charge you are saying you tested your's at, the damage is already done. Your battery is most assuredly sulfated from the chronic undercharging. Ford announced quite a while ago that they would have a solution preventing the deep sleep problem by the end of March. They evidently lied and then said they will have the solution by the end of June. They still have not announced the solution. They released a SSM on possible battery drain from the AC Module that they indicate "may" contribute to battery drainage, but have not released a definitive solution to ensuring the vehicle never goes into the deep sleep problem this taking away all of the features we ad owners paid for to receive via the Ford Pass app, let alone coming out to a completely dark vehicle at night.

This issue of the hybrid and sometimes non hybrid killing the 12v battery over time has been going on for a few years. There is a prior SSM number #53087 that was supposed to have a fix in the first quarter of 2025.... Ha Ha that never happened. After 8 months, Ferd replaced my 12v battery that went dead. Had continuous deep sleep bs until I had to use a jump pack to start a brand new truck. I refuse to use a trickle / battery maintainer on a new vehicle. It's not my job to replace or keep a battery alive for FORD. This little SUV truck now has a total of 23 recalls. So far Ford has no fix and is hoping you cover up the battery issue at your expense. DON'T DO IT!

Agree with you completely. We bought the top of the line 2023 Lariat hybrid with the Lux package. Not buying new batteries for a vehicle with 10,000 miles in 1 1/2 years. On our third on Ford's dime. Had all recalls and SSMs done. Ford has got to take this problem seriously and stop with the delay tactics.

Says is right there on the window sticker "Battery Saver Feature". Thank you Ford, for including this feature. I am in battery saver mode right now, thankfully. Because of this feature, I am at 869 days of ownership on the original battery. Starts first time, every time. I haven't had a single issue with this vehicle.

So much confusion on Deep Sleep warning.

Doesn't mean the truck won't start.
Means remote features have been disabled - specifically the modem, so as to remove a potential drain because system has no idea how much longer you'll not be starting the truck, or battery could drop too low to start it to charge.
<9.5 V, <50% SOC, 14 days no start. (and the 50% doesn't seem to be accurate anymore)

Battery Saver features usually kick in earlier and lights start turning off sooner and sooner.
Same purpose. I believe many have found at about 12.1 that starts.

Usually Battery Saver starts first, but right time of year may never notice.

So if Deep Sleep kicked in with no Battery Saver happening over some days - you may have had an issue dropping the battery faster for that time period.

Modem with no AT&T signal, attempting to connect to upload final parking status, stuck in a loop?
AC system kept something running? - that's probably going to get ugly.
Other module stuck on attempting to do something?

Mine has the battery killer feature. Wonder if I payed more for that. I know so far the dealer is paying for it. Hopefully they figure it out before my warranty is up.

Agree with you. Incompetent engineers can't design a charging circuit to properly recharge the 12v battery so they hire spin doctors to call that faux pas a "feature".

Love the Battery Saver Feature. Of course after one moderate drive the truck is no longer using the feature attm. 34,843 miles, all smiles...

So my experience - 23 XLT hybrid. Nine months in after 4th of July holiday and not driving for 4 days, deep sleep, truck dead, had to jump. Dealer gave me BS about it being heat related (lived in TX my whole life, batteries don't die in 6 months). Ended up battery warrantied. Made it about 5 months to Thanksgiving, truck sat 4 days - deep sleep. Was able to start. Since then I had it go into deep sleep on 3 more occassions...the last was after I had driving it 90 miles to go camping. This one concerned me as I had driven plenty of distance to charge the 12v. Was able to start, drove 90 miles home..parked it...deep sleep again 3 hours later. This was while the 2025 SSM was still in progress (around May).

Took it to the dealer and had them warranty the battery again (after having to argue with the child Service Advisor). A week later the ACCM fix was released, and I had it performed...no issues but I did have 1 interesting effect. My AC had always been a bit odd. When I came to work in the morning, I would set it at 69 degrees...when I left in the afternoon I would have to turn it up to 78 or it would be freezing. Always thought it was odd, even though several folks here told me I just didn't know how AC's work LOL (I am 45 and live in Texas, yes I know how they work).

Well, the ACCM fix may or may not have fixed the deep sleep, time will tell since this is a new battery, but it did improve the AC as now I can leave the AC at 72 and it works as I would expect it to. The AC, Deep Sleep, and frequent blue tooth drops have been my only issues in 36,000 miles. If two of those three are now resolved I am a fairly happy camper. Fingers crossed the DS warnings are done for the most part.
