I think the BMS needs to be calibrated as noted by BradnChristine
Until then, I'll just deal with the inconvenience of trickle charge every 3 weeks. Outside of this issue, truck is great!

So the BMS sucks ?
8 full days since I last parked and locked my 2023 (3 days after a BMS software update) and still no Deep Sleep alert. I may make it to the full 14 days before the other deep sleep parameter is met. Just trying to push it and driving other vehicles to watch what happens.

tell me about BMS software update, in theory my 24 should have had this update when built.

I stated before that I think 12 volt battery problems will be chronic with the Maverick Hybrid the only one I know about. Mine keeps a 15-15,5 charge going to it all the time. Battery is not designed for that.

This was on my 2023 Hybrid Lariat. It has seen deep sleep several times, but never failed to pop right up to 14.9-15.1 volts when I press the button, Accessory or actually starting it.

I had them come out to do the turn signal recall reprogramming, and the tech said he saw there was another BMS update to do and would do that as well.

This is the first time anyone has done anything to my 2023, built in 1/23. He did not leave me with any documentation of what he did. Next time I go to the dealer, I will see if they can print out what they did for me.

it should be 11.8V for an enhanced flooded battery.

the dash lights won't even come on at 9.5, I have no idea where that came from. in my experience totally dead batteries will show 10.5. I've had a few of those the years, not in the maverick yet.

resetting the BMS definitely can help. I don't know why it doesn't self correct.

To reset the BMS, do I have to "fool" the truck that my battery is brand new by completely disconnecting the battery, reconnect the battery and then perform the 5 flash - 3 pump on the brakes procedure?
The reason why I ask is because I am not seeing the battery warning light flash at all after I do this.

You don't need to disconnect the battery. The procedure isn't difficult. Watch more videos about it I guess? There are many on YouTube and every Ford with a battery monitor has this same reset procedure.

It's really important that people are told to wait 10 full seconds to see the battery light flash after doing this procedure. No one has said that. It's not even in the manual to wait 10 full seconds. I did it, WAITED 10 full seconds, now its reset.

My truck took over a month from shipped to delivery. When I took delivery, I assumed the battery may not be fully charged. So the first night, I put it on a battery minder over night. Then reset the BMS the next day.

If I won't be driving my truck for a few days, I connect it to a battery minder. After disconnecting the minder, I do not disconnect the battery to reset BMS. I just:
  • Get in the truck and shut the door.
  • Turn the ignition to ON (no start).
  • Turn on the headlights.
  • Pull back the turn signal stalk to flash the brights 5 times.
  • Hit the brake pedal 3 times.
  • WAIT for the battery light to flash.

If no flash after a few seconds, immediately repeat the brights 5 times + brake 3 times, then WAIT.

I've never had a deep sleep warning and the interior lights always come on when I open the door.
Purely anecdotal and YMMV.

But this is too low for the EFB! 11.8 voltage is close to 30% discharge level...anything under the 50% discharge level is damaging the battery. The BMS needs to be reprogrammed in my opinion!!!
