Dealer put 5W30 in Hybrid

What makes anyone think that if an actual Ford service department either

1. Puts the wrong oil in your truck
2. Has such a crap system in place as to be unable to list the actual oil they used in the receipt
3. Lies about what oil they used
4. Has zero clue about what oil the addict melonhead used to change your oil
Or
5. Any combination of the above…

Would ever

1. Suddenly change their practices
2. Properly change your oil ever
3. Be honest about what they did or will do
4. Stand behind what they did
5. Advocate for you in the event of a warranty claim
6. Adequately perform a safety check
Or
7. Do the right thing

Sure, running the vehicle with the wrong oil isn’t going to cause a catastrophic failure but there’s more reason for oil grade selection than fuel economy. The tolerances and oil passages in these engines are not what they were 20 years ago. The pencil pushers spec’d 0w20 for a number of reasons.

Free world. Do what seems right or practical for you.

I change my own oil. Numbnuts can change other people’s oil between cigarette breaks while he’s nursing a hangover. Not mine.

22 XLT, only 7000 miles. Needed a state inspection so I figured to change the oil as well since it was in there. Had to run and just looked at receipt. Receipt says they put in 5W30 but hybrid should have 0W20. I have a call into service manager and am waiting a call back. Service advisor said I got the right oil but the computer just spits out 5W30 as a default. Not falling for that. Thanks for letting me vent.

In the future, if you have someone do the oil change, just furnish your own oil & filter and keep all receipts. That's what I do.
