Dealer installed item tailgate lock

Can anyone tell me what the $40.00 charge on my window sticker here is a picture of my window sticker also the dealership is charging me $40.00 to install it. Any answer

I think this is a cover that goes over one of the tailgate hinges to prevent it from being removed, since the XL doesn't have a locking handle. I think installation should be included though...?

I think you are right but all models come with kry lock tailgate latch even the XL XLT And Larit can lock and unlock with key fob XL key only same key that starts the truck that came ford customer Service.

It is the lock for the hinge so someone can't steal your tailgate. The price you see is the price you pay. There is no " also the dealership is charging me $40.00 to install it. ". You should firmly remind them that they are already compensated by Ford to install all "Dealer Installed Options", big or small. They are not allowed to essentially "double bill" you.

Thanks but I told them not to install it. They said I still have to buy it because I ordered it but still haven't sat down with finance person yet. Then we will see if I pay $40.00 for something the sales man sold me and didn't know what it was.
